Special Issue Information
This Special Issue explores advanced applications of fractional calculus and non-integer dynamics within electrical power systems and mechatronic systems. Traditional integer-order models often struggle to accurately capture the complex, memory-dependent, and hereditary properties inherent in modern industrial components. To address these limitations, this issue aims to bridge the gap between theoretical mathematical frameworks and practical engineering applications, thereby fostering the development of next-generation power, energy, and motion control technologies.
We seek high-quality contributions that utilize fractional modeling to solve emerging challenges in design, analysis, and optimization. The scope of this Special Issue encompasses, but is not limited to, the following key topics:
High-frequency modeling and fractional modeling of power electronics and electrical machines.
Advanced fractional-order control design and optimization strategies to enhance system performance and robustness.
Comprehensive stability analysis and bifurcation control of complex electrical grids and driving networks.
Innovative numerical solutions and simulation algorithms for solving challenging non-integer differential equations.
Robust fault diagnostics, condition monitoring, and precise lifetime prediction methods based on fractional-order systems.
We welcome original research articles, comprehensive reviews, and industrial case studies that demonstrate the superior accuracy, efficiency, and feasibility of fractional-order paradigms in solving real-world engineering challenges.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Fractal and Fractional is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2700 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
