Welcoming Four New Section Editors-in-Chief of Drones

We are pleased to announce that Drones (ISSN: 2504-446X) has appointed four Section Editors-in-Chief to lead the newly-established sections:

Name: Dr. Abdessattar Abdelkefi

Section:Drone Design and Development

Dr. Abdessattar Abdelkefi is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at New Mexico State University. He was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Virginia Tech from July 2012 to July 2014. He earned his Ph.D. in Engineering Mechanics at Virginia Tech in July 2012. His research interests are in the fields of energy harvesting, non-linear dynamics, vibration and control, smart materials, aeroelasticity, fluid-structure interactions, MEMS and NEMS, and flight dynamics.

Name: Prof. Dr. Brigitte Leblon

Section:Drones in Agriculture and Forestry

Prof. Dr. Brigitte Leblon is a Professor of remote sensing, as well as the director of TRANSFOR-M and of the Remote/Wood Sensing Laboratory at the Faculty of Forestry and Environmental Management, University of New Brunswick (UNB), Canada. TRANSFOR-M is a dual degree Master’s program in forestry and environment between Europe and Canada, which received an international award for the most innovative graduate program in 2014. She is also Adjunct Professor at the Université du Québec à Montréal and at Dalhousie University.

Name: Dr. Eben N. Broadbent

Section:Drones in Ecology

Dr. Eben N. Broadbent is an Assistant Professor of forest ecology and geomatics at the School of Forest, Fisheries, and Geomatics Sciences at the University of Florida where he co-directs the Spatial Ecology and Conservation Lab and the GatorEye Unmanned Flying Laboratory Project with Dr. Almeyda Zambrano (Professor of tropical conservation and development, TRSM, UFL) and is an affiliated researcher with the Woods Institute for the Environment at Stanford University.

Name: Dr. Vishal Sharma

Section:Drone Communications

Dr. Vishal Sharma is working as a Lecturer at the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EEECS) at the Queen's University Belfast (QUB), Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. His areas of research and interests are autonomous systems, UAV communications, network behavior modeling, 5G and beyond, blockchain, and CPS security.
