Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD) represent a complex group of musculoskeletal conditions affecting the masticatory system, often resulting in chronic pain, impaired jaw function, and reduced quality of life. Recent advances in diagnostics, imaging, biomaterials, and minimally invasive interventions have substantially transformed the clinical landscape of TMD management. This Special Issue aims to highlight contemporary developments and emerging evidence in the understanding and treatment of TMD. We invite contributions that explore innovations in diagnostic technologies, pathophysiological mechanisms, novel treatment approaches, and evidence-based treatment guidelines, as well as interdisciplinary and patient-centered management strategies. Both original research articles and systematic reviews are encouraged, particularly those that integrate clinical outcomes with mechanistic insights or propose novel therapeutic approaches. By bringing together current findings from clinical and translational research, this Special Issue seeks to promote evidence-based practices and stimulate future directions in personalized TMD care.
