Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Cosmetics are widely used worldwide. There is a long history of the use of cosmetic materials, but there is no clear evidence of when exactly cosmetic formulations were first established. As cosmetics can help in maintaining health, we can include the ultimate purposes of cosmetics among the needs, behaviors, and lifestyles of modern society, in which hygiene, personal care, and disease prevention are considered among the prerequisites for a civilized way of living. Cosmetics can determine health and well-being, and in fact are very important in everyday life.

The 2nd International conference on CHEMISTRY FOR BEAUTY AND HEALTH will be held remotely on 12–15 May 2021. This conference is organized by the Department of Biomaterials and Cosmetic Chemistry, Nicolas Copernicus University in Torun and Department of Biophysics, Poznan University of Medical Sciences. This conference brings together academics and industrial experts in the field to present and discuss innovations in chemistry related to wellbeing, beauty, and health. English is the official language of the conference. More information about the conference can be found at
https://beauty-torun.umk.pl/pages/main_page/

Conference participants are cordially invited to contribute original research papers or reviews to this Special Issue of Cosmetics. The main topics of the Special Issue will cover new active ingredients and cosmetic formulations, the substantiation of efficacy claims, and new non-invasive technology to investigate and quantify skin aging and the cosmetic treatment of this condition. New ideas in cosmetic chemistry and cosmetology will be given high priority.
