Green computing, in the context of cloud and pervasive computing, is an emerging research field in computer science and engineering. Pervasive computing and cloud computing are two promising paradigms that have seen exponential growth in the number of deployments and which are poised to play major roles in our daily life. However, in order to realize this potential, both will have to face the critical challenges related to energy consumption, e.g., controlling the energy spent by the large-scale cloud data centers and prolonging the battery life of mobile devices in pervasive computing and the Internet of Things (IoT). New concepts and technologies such as mobile cloud computing (MCC), software-defined networking (SDN), edge/fog and hybrid cloud services can be leveraged to make cloud data centers and pervasive wireless devices more energy efficient. They aid us to shape a "green" world for the future. The GPC event series focuses on pervasive and environmentally sustainable computing, bringing together theorists and practitioners alike in a vibrant forum. The 2019 GPC edition took place at the Federal University of Uberlândia, in the heart of Brazil, and the papers you see here are but a sample of the work being developed by this community.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All papers will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Computers is an international peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 550 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
