Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
As the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) profoundly states, “Pancreatic cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer death. Although it is only the 12th most common cancer type globally, with more than 500 000 people estimated to have been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2022, it is the sixth most common cause of cancer death, leading to almost 470 000 deaths in 2022. It is one of the cancer types with the least favourable prognosis.” (https://www.iarc.who.int/news-events/new-video-to-mark-pancreatic-cancer-awareness-month/). In light of these dismal statistics, and to raise awareness of this deadly form of cancer, the IARC designated November 2024 as Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month. In this context, the aim of this Special Issue of Biomedicines is to publish studies related to advancements in pancreatic cancer research. We welcome submissions focused on novel biomarkers, such as molecular biomarkers (e.g. non-coding RNA and other epigenetic changes), new diagnostic techniques, applications of artificial intelligence, and recently established therapeutic approaches, ranging from chemotherapeutic agents to immunotherapies and targeted therapies, spanning from preclinical research to clinical practice. This Special Issue will consider original research articles, reviews, communications, and well-documented opinions and perspectives which contribute to advancing knowledge of this deadly, difficult-to-detect, and incurable cancer. Our objective is to provide the scientific community with insights that will help to enhance progress in the fight against pancreatic cancer.
We look forward to receiving the contributions of international colleagues working in this field.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Biomedicines is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
