Dear Colleague,
For more than a decade, terahertz metasurfaces have attracted great attention from scientists and engineers alike. They can be engineered in order to realize devices with unique electromagnetic properties. Tremendous efforts have been devoted to designing metasurfaces or planar metamaterials formed by metallic structures on top of dielectric substrates or from dielectrics with certain refractive indices. Devices such as filters, modulators, absorbers, slow light devices, and sensors can be designed by utilizing metasurfaces. In this Special Issue, recent findings in the field of terahertz metasurfaces are pursued.
