Special Issue Information
Performance analysis has become a crucial aspect of elite soccer, and the demand for analysts in the technical staff of teams is constantly increasing. This Special Issue, entitled "Advances in Performance Analysis of Elite Soccer Players and Teams", aims to compile the latest research and professional practice, showcasing innovative methodologies that enhance our understanding of performance metrics, tactical strategies, and the protection of athlete health.
This Special Issue welcomes the submission of original research articles (qualitative and quantitative), case studies, opinion papers, bibliometric analyses, and all types of reviews. We particularly encourage contributions that investigate the performance of both individual athletes and team dynamics.
The scope of this Special Issue includes a wide range of soccer disciplines, with a focus on practical applications that translate analysis into the optimization of performance, injury prevention, and tailored training programs. In addition, this Special Issue seeks to highlight interdisciplinary approaches that integrate perspectives from sports science, biomechanics, psychology, and coaching to provide a holistic view of performance enhancement. Studies that bridge the gap between theory and practice, offering real-world insights for coaches, analysts, and sports practitioners, are especially welcome.
By gathering contemporary research and expert opinions, this Special Issue aims to enhance the analysis of soccer performance and contribute to the continued development of evidence-based practices that enable elite soccer players and teams to achieve peak performance.
