Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Green industry and the circular economy represent key pillars of sustainable development in modern society and, at the same time, an important tool for mitigating the environmental impacts of industrial production. Current industrial models based on the linear principle of “extract – produce – consume – dispose” lead to excessive use of natural resources, increasing waste generation, and rising greenhouse gas emissions. The aim of this paper is to analyze innovative and sustainable approaches that support the transformation of industry toward environmentally efficient and circular economic models.

The paper focuses on the implementation of modern technologies such as the digitalization of production processes, Industry 4.0, the use of renewable energy sources, material recycling, and the eco-design of products. Special attention is devoted to the principles of the circular economy, which promote the reuse of resources, waste minimization, and the extension of product life cycles. The results of the analysis indicate that the implementation of green innovations brings not only environmental benefits but also economic advantages in the form of higher production efficiency, cost reduction, and increased business competitiveness. Sustainable industrial strategies also contribute to the creation of new job opportunities and support the long-term stability of the economy.
