Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue aims to explore the multifunctional potential of high-entropy materials (HEMs), a novel class of materials characterized by the incorporation of multiple elements into a single-phase structure. HEMs offer unprecedented opportunities for tailoring chemical bonding, phase stability, defect chemistry, and reactivity. This Special Issue welcomes original research and reviews addressing synthesis strategies; thermodynamic and kinetic behavior; electrochemical and catalytic properties; and the resulting impact on functional applications, including energy storage and conversion, structural materials, and electronic or optical devices. Contributions that elucidate structure–property relationships and advance the theoretical and experimental understanding of HEMs are particularly encouraged.

Manuscript Submission Information

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Applied Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
