Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Brain tumors in pets have been the subject of increasing attention in veterinary medicine thanks to the growing specialization of neurology services in developed countries and the advancement of surgical techniques aimed at removing intracranial masses and improving animal care. At the same time, we are witnessing exciting improvements in brain tumor oncology and neuropathology, including the definition of alternative or additional therapeutic approaches and new histological grading. Significant ongoing data collection shows promise for developing an updated classification and grading system for brain tumors in the near future, which will better reflects their biological behavior. The aim of this Special Issue is to highlight results from studies conducted worldwide on brain tumors in dogs and cats while fostering high-level discussion in this fascinating field of advanced veterinary medicine. New and reliable diagnostic aspects of imaging or neuropathology, novel strategies to prevent or halt tumor growth, molecular mechanisms defining biological behavior, and parameters for grading and prognostic considerations are suggested as potential areas of investigation to establish stable reference points for the period of innovation and development ahead of us.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.
