Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

This Special Issue, ‘Poultry Housing in the 21st Century: Improving Production, Health and Welfare: Second Edition’, aims to showcase innovative research and technological advancements that improve poultry production systems while prioritizing animal health and welfare. We welcome the submission of articles that focus on modern housing designs, environmental control strategies, and management practices that maximize productivity and sustainability. Topics of interest include the integration of precision livestock farming tools, automation, the Internet of Things (IoT), and sensor-based monitoring for environmental parameters, health, and behavior. Special emphasis will be placed on solutions that balance economic efficiency with ethical production standards, addressing the increasing societal and market demand for animal-friendly systems. Contributions may include experimental research, modeling and simulations, case studies, and reviews, but must offer practical applications and future perspectives for sustainable poultry housing worldwide. The publication of this Special Issue will encourage multidisciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange among researchers, industry stakeholders, and policymakers.
