Isotope Application in Soil Erosion Assessment

Dear Colleagues,

Isotope applications are today widely used in soil erosion assessment, reaching from quantitative approaches with radiogenic isotopes (e.g. ¹³⁷Cs, ²¹⁰Pb_ex, ^239+240Pu) as well as qualitative evaluations ( d¹³C, δ¹⁵N) and sediment source attribution with compound specific stable isotope analysis (CSIA) of compounds like fatty acids, but also n-alkanes.  While radiogenic approaches have already been set up for more than five decades, they aim at determining mainly the on-site effects of soil erosion, while CSIA assess the off-site effects and quantification of sediment source attribution.
This Special Issue aims to bring together studies using either of the techniques or a combination of the techniques from radiogenic to stable isotopes and CSIA. Qualitative as well as quantitative approaches as well as modelling studies using isotopes as crucial input parameters are welcome.
