Feature papers are submitted upon individual invitation or recommendation by the scientific editors and must receive positive feedback from the reviewers.
Editor’s Choice articles are based on recommendations by the scientific editors of MDPI journals from around the world. Editors select a small number of articles recently published in the journal that they believe will be particularly interesting to readers, or important in the respective research area. The aim is to provide a snapshot of some of the most exciting work published in the various research areas of the journal.

On 1 November 2014, the 18th International Electronic Conference on Synthetic Organic Chemistry (ECSOC) will be officially launched on Sciforum.net, featuring presentations from different sections of organic synthesis, such as general organic synthesis, bioorganic, medicinal, and natural products chemistry, microwave assisted synthesis, polymer and supramolecular chemistry, computational chemistry, and ionic liquids.
ECSOC is a series of conferences available on the Internet since 1997, an original initiative by MDPI, and was later consolidated with the contribution of Dr. Julio A. Seijas Vázquez of the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. ECSOC very well may constitute the oldest electronic conference series which has been continuously running each year. Throughout the years it has always maintained its character of free participation and registration as a distinctive standard of open access conferences on the Internet.
