MDPI's Young Investigator Awards honor emerging scientists at the early stages of their academic careers, recognizing their significant contributions and fostering collaboration within the scientific community. We are proud to announce the 82 recipients for 2024, who have been carefully selected by the journals’ Award Evaluation Committee.
To further inspire winners' future research and motivate more young scholars through their sharing, we conducted follow-up activities with some winners, such as interviews and award ceremonies. Here are some highlights from their acceptance speeches.
“I am deeply honored to receive the Children Young Investigator Award. This recognition means a great deal to me, both as validation of my scientific commitment and on a personal level. I entered the field of research later than is typical for a traditional academic trajectory. This experience has taught me that developmental and professional paths are flexible and shaped by opportunities, challenges, and the ability to adapt, rather than being linear or predetermined. This award has confirmed the importance of embracing our unique journey and staying open to growth, even when our path is unconventional.”
Dr. Valentina Lucia La Rosa, University of Catania, Italy—winner of the Children Young Investigator Award
“I am incredibly honored to receive the TropicalMed Young Investigator Award. This recognition is a testament not only to individual effort but to the unwavering support of the mentors, colleagues, and teams who have accompanied me throughout my journey.”
Dr. Exequiel O. J. Porta, University College London, UK—winner of the TropicalMed Young Investigator Award
MDPI will continue to provide support and recognition to the academic community. To learn more about the list of awardees, please visit the following pages:
