Fermentation Travel Award—Open for Applications

We are pleased to announce that the Fermentation 2026 Travel Award will be granted to one junior scientist for the year 2026. All applications will be assessed by an Evaluation Committee comprising senior scholars from the Fermentation Editorial Board.

This award provides financial support for the winner to attend an international conference in 2026 on fermentation regarding new and emerging products, processes and technologies, including biopharmaceuticals and biotech drugs. It enables them to hold a presentation, present a poster, or do both at the conference.

Candidate requirements:

  • Postdoctoral fellows or PhD students;
  • Plans to attend an international conference in 2026 (giving an oral presentation or presenting a poster).

Required application documents:

  • Information about the conference that the applicant is planning to attend and the abstract that will be submitted;
  • Their curriculum vitae and list of publications;
  • A letter of justification describing the focus of their research (max. 800 words);
  • A letter of recommendation from the supervisor, research director, or department head, which also confirms the applicant’s status.

The winner will be awarded CHF 500 and an electronic certificate.

Please submit your applications for the Fermentation 2026 Travel Award online by 31 October 2025.

Prizes will be awarded at the end of December 2026 and announced on the Fermentation (ISSN: 2311-5637) journal website.
