Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The author's argument are lucid and clearly articulated. Excellent analyses and deeply compelling presentation of facts and theoretical epistemology.

Author Response

Dear Reviewer,

I thank you for your review. I have corrected the spelling errors. Yhey can be easily seen on the track of the revised paper.

Reviewer 2 Report

I believe this philosophical discussion and literature review are interesting and important. Social constructs must be identified and critiqued, and the author does this to some extent. I think the use of "we", as in sentences like "we learn" or "what should we do?" should be eliminated. It makes the author sound too casual or open-ended. Just firmly argue from the beginning why investigating the discursive, political, and cultural constructions of "African" or "African-ness" is important and valuable. Then move on to the rest of the article, which is solid and provides interesting examples.

Author Response

Dear Reviewer,

I thank you for your review. I responded carefully to your queries: spelling; changed the 'we' to 'I'; and provided stout focus for the paper.

Thank you once again.
