Mechanism of Time-Dependent Instability of Deep Soft-Rock Roadway and Crack-Filling Reinforcement Technology
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
The manuscript studies time-dependent damage and instability of a tunnel constructed in soft rock. The methodology involves site observations and numerical modeling (UDEC). The work needs to be improved before it can be processed further. Consider my comments for improvement.

Reviewer 2 Report
The deformation of roadways is a widespread phenomenon and is very dangerous. Therefore, the subject matter discussed in the article is very up-to-date. However, several issues require clarification and supplementation.
1. Figure 3a is not referenced in the text.
2. Can the detector in Figure 3a be used in roadways with a methane explosion hazard?
3. Line 319 - section 4.2 should start with some text, not Figure 12.
4. In the "Discussion" section, the authors should reference other technologies used. It would be necessary to compare the presented technology to the others.
5. In the "Conclusions" section, the authors should provide information on the limitations of the presented technology. Is the technology possible to be used in all types of rocks, at any depth, when there is a water hazard?
6. The article must be corrected in English. "The" is missing in many places, and nouns should be plural in some places.
7. 80% of the references are from Chinese authors! There should definitely be cited articles by authors from other countries.
In addition:
Line 149: It should be NawroCki – c is missed.
In many places, the parameter value is separated from its unit (lines 195-196, 485-496, 488-491). It should be corrected.
Table 1 – units should be corrected (kg·m-3, Gpa)
