Round 1

What was the type of sensor used for data acquisition? Was it an accelerometer? Piezoelectric or MEMS-based? Include all details such as model, sensitivity, range, etc.

Justify the sensor's location and orientation.

What was the sampling frequency?

Was the noise filtered out from experimental signals? How?

Literature regarding the use of spectrograms can be included by referring to the following references. "Health Monitoring of Milling Tool Inserts Using CNN Architectures Trained by Vibration Spectrograms", "A Study on Deep Learning Application of Vibration Data and Visualization of Defects for Predictive Maintenance of Gravity Acceleration Equipment".

Check that the abstract provides an accurate synopsis of the paper. It is very vague in its present form.

The methodology of the proposed model must be illustrated by a clear flowchart.

The manuscript is more like a report than a research paper failing in solid discussion. Revise results and discussion part by critically examining results and including inferences drawn.

The paper is clear and well written in general terms.

My main concern is that the novelty is not clear. There are a lot of publications on this topic in rail dynamics journals and the contributions are not clear. The authors need to significantly improve the state of the art and clarify the novelty of their research and main contributions.

On the other hand. There is a lack of important parameter values. They present values for inertias and for the gear model, but none of the stiffness and damping appear. This is very important to know the behaviour of the model.

This manuscript presents Dynamic Characteristics of Urban Rail Train in Multivehicle Marshalling under Traction Conditions. This paper contains a good effort related to railway infrastructures because of the importance of railway transportation infrastructures. In general, the manuscript is organized well. It could be accepted for publication if the authors resolve the following issues. All the answers should be included in the manuscript.

1.      Page 1, line 45, please please do correct the grammar for the following sentences “…caused by the excitation of the wheel and rail. have important significance.”

2.      Fig1(a), where are the constraint components in the model?

3.      Table 1, please unify the mass unite, instead of writing “Carbody mass (t)”, please write “Carbody mass (kg)”.

4.      Fig 2, please label the components of the axle box and the gearbox box.

5.      Fig 4(a), please please add the units of the x-axis and y-axis. Please unify the units in the figure with the text.

6.      In Fig 8, the colors are unclear.

7.      Fig 9, the velocity unit is m/s. However, in the text is km/h. please unify the units.

8.      Page 11, line 337, please correct Figure No of the following “.Figures 12(a) and 12(b)…” and the rest of the paragraph.
