Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This review is well focused and handles interesting topics. Discussions among several building codes, soil type, and seismic hazards are nicely organized.

Title: How about changing from codes to building codes?

Figure 1: Please specify Vs (shear-wave velocity) of the rock layer.

Application to Mexico: I am afraid that the proposed method does not include any surface waves. Need some explanations.

Table 10: Average wave velocity should be Average shear-wave velocity.

Reviewer 3 Report

The presented review describes the seismic response spectra and their application ACC. to the Mexican, USA and international standards.

The language and style of the article are correct and read appropriately.

References do not seem to be cited in an appropriate and clear manner. Many passages make one wonder if the theories presented are the result of the authors' research or taken from the literature.

Review doesn't provide updates on the latest progress made in a given area of research.

There is no comparison or discussion of the presented methods that are the subject of the paper.

Some conclusions do not follow directly from the considerations described in the article.

Yours Sincerely,

Reviewer.
