Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
The authors have studied various aging condition effects on the damping behavior and hardness evolution of high-strength aluminum AA7075. The work is novel enough and the required experimental results are provided. I only have some minor comments for the author to enhance the quality of the work, before I can suggest its publication.
- Table 1 consists of only a single row. I suggest removing it and adding its information into the text.
- The Discussion and Conclusions sections are too brief. Please provide more explanatory sections.
- Only 11 references, most of which are kind of old now, are used. To show the importance of the work, please add more references from more recent works of high-impact journals.

Reviewer 2 Report
The authors provide a concise and very well written manuscript on the damping behavior of AA7075 alloys in several states of ageing and investigated possible correlations with microstructural changes.
The title of the article would be clearer if the sentence was rearranged:
"Microstructural Influences on the Strain-Dependent Damping of the High-Strength Aluminum Alloy AA7075 caused by different Aging Strategies"
The experimental methods are well described.
Figure 1 could benefit from an additional panel that shows exemplary raw data of the damping behavior for one composition at several strain values. This would help the reader understand how the data were analyzed.
The results section is very well structured and clear to read and understand. The authors have provided a clear separation of results (observations) and discussion (interpretation).

Reviewer 3 Report
High-strength aluminum alloy AA7075 is widely used in aerospace industry, due to 29 its excellent strength-to-weight ratio combined with resistance to stress corrosion cracking 30 and intercrystalline corrosion. The paper deals with “ Microstructural Influences caused by different Aging Strate-2 gies on the Strain-Dependent Damping of the High-Strength 3 Aluminum Alloy AA7075”, some results have been obtained in this paper. However, the current version still needs to be improved as follows,
(1) The aging conditions shown in Table 2 should be determined based on the aging conditions or previous results.
(2) The STEM characterization results have be shown in the manuscript, but he quality is too bad, the detailed precipitation distribution should be carefully characterized by TEM.
(3) The relationship between microstructure and mechanical properties should be deeply discussed in the manuscript.
(4) The introduction should be also improved to show the key points in this field.

Round 2
Reviewer 3 Report
The precipitates in the alloys in the different conditions should be systematically characterized by TEM. And then, based on the microstructure characterization and mechanical properties, the relationship between them shuold be established.
