Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Thank you for inviting me to review the manuscript. After a thorough investigation, I believe that the manuscript should be accepted for publication. It is going to be an important contribution to the field of satellite-measurements.

The title accurately reflects the content and the abstract is complete and able to stand alone.

The aim of the paper is clearly stated, which is to use multi-satellite measurements to investigate surface waves generated by extra-tropical cyclones in the North Atlantic Ocean. The authors have provided a clear and concise introduction, explaining the importance of studying surface waves generated by extra-tropical cyclones and the need for accurate measurements of these waves.

Furthermore, the authors have presented a detailed background on the previous studies conducted on this topic, highlighting the limitations of existing methods and the need for new and improved measurement techniques. The methods used in this manuscript are appropriately selected and explained clearly, providing sufficient information for an informed reader to replicate the study.

The presentation of data and artwork to represent the results are well-prepared, and the conclusions are supported by the data. In short, the manuscript meets all the criteria on my checklist and is very well-prepared. I do not have any specific comments or suggestions. However, the final decision ultimately depends on the other reviewers and handling editors.
