Author Response

We thank the reviewer very much for the comments.  We have now corrected all the typographical errors listed, and have also replaced Figure 1 with a new figure that does not have the word H as part of rhinovirus (RV instead of HRV).

Reviewer 2 Report

This manuscript describes a large cohort of children that was tested for several viral infections, although rhinoviruses are the focus of this study. The novelty of the study is in the identification of children that were RV+, but did not have classically associated RV symptoms, and a comparison of viral loads, incidence of bacterial coinfections, and disease severity.

The manuscript is very well written and easy to read, and provides a thorough analysis of comprehensive data sets.

The labeling in Figure 2 is in correct. The incidental should be gray and the compatible should be black according to the data in the text and the figure caption for this figure. Please double check as this is a major error.

Minor typos:

Line 51: join to joint

Line 150: of children

Line 384: in played?

Author Response
