Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

In the manuscript “To break or not to break: the role of TOP2B in transcription” by Cowell et al. The authors reviewed the specific roles of TOP2B in executing transcriptional programs and signal-induced transcription. The protein-interaction network of TOP2B has also been analyzed to demonstrate the broad range of protein interactions of TOP2B, including DNA repair, chromatin organization, transcriptional regulation, etc. Overall, the review is well-written, with a clear focus and in-depth knowledge.

A minor suggestion for Figure 1A on Page 2 would be using two lines to represent the dsDNA in T- or G-segment. It would be more evident for the readers.

Author Response

As requested, Fig. 1A  has been amended to use two lines to represent the dsDNA in T- or G-segment.
