Intelligent Electronics and Micro/Nanosystems—Advances from INTELECTRO 2026
Topic Information
Dear Colleagues,
Recent advances in intelligent electronics and micro‑/nanosystems are redefining the boundaries of sensing, actuation, computation, and system integration across a wide range of applications. INTELECTRO 2026 brings together researchers and engineers working on enabling technologies spanning MEMS/NEMS, sensors and actuators, microfluidics and lab‑on‑chip platforms, flexible and wearable electronics, photonics and optoelectronics, integrated circuits, and emerging computing hardware.
This Topic aims to capture high‑quality contributions presented at INTELECTRO 2026, as well as complementary submissions from the broader community, addressing both fundamental developments and applied research in intelligent electronic systems. Particular emphasis is placed on cross‑disciplinary approaches combining micro‑ and nanoscale devices with embedded intelligence, IoT connectivity, energy‑efficient architectures, neuromorphic and quantum technologies, and robotics and human–machine interfaces.
By featuring selected works from the conference alongside open submissions, this Topic seeks to provide a snapshot of the state of the art while highlighting emerging trends that will shape next‑generation electronic systems. Contributions ranging from original research articles to comprehensive reviews are welcome and should be relevant to academia, industry, and technology transfer.

Preprints.org is a multidisciplinary platform offering a preprint service designed to facilitate the early sharing of your research. It supports and empowers your research journey from the very beginning.
MDPI Topics is collaborating with Preprints.org and has established a direct connection between MDPI journals and the platform. Authors are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity by posting their preprints at Preprints.org prior to publication:
- Share your research immediately: disseminate your ideas prior to publication and establish priority for your work.
- Safeguard your intellectual contribution: Protect your ideas with a time-stamped preprint that serves as proof of your research timeline.
- Boost visibility and impact: Increase the reach and influence of your research by making it accessible to a global audience.
- Gain early feedback: Receive valuable input and insights from peers before submitting to a journal.
- Ensure broad indexing: Web of Science (Preprint Citation Index), Google Scholar, Crossref, SHARE, PrePubMed, Scilit and Europe PMC.
