The purpose of this paper was to model, with the help of neutrosophic fuzzy numbers, the optimal financial asset portfolios, offering additional information to those investing in the capital market. The optimal neutrosophic portfolios are those categories of portfolios consisting of two or more financial assets, modeled using neutrosophic triangular numbers, that allow for the determination of financial performance indicators, respectively the neutrosophic average, the neutrosophic risk, for each financial asset, and the neutrosophic covariance as well as the determination of the portfolio return, respectively of the portfolio risk. There are two essential conditions established by rational investors on the capital market to obtain an optimal financial assets portfolio, respectively by fixing the financial return at the estimated level as well as minimizing the risk of the financial assets neutrosophic portfolio. These conditions allowed us to compute the financial assets’ share in the total value of the neutrosophic portfolios, for which the financial return reaches the level set by investors and the financial risk has the minimum value. In financial terms, the financial assets’ share answers the legitimate question of rational investors in the capital market regarding the amount of money they must invest in compliance with the optimal conditions regarding the neutrosophic return and risk. In this manuscript, we extend the traditional multi-attributive border approximation area comparison (MABAC) method for the multiple-criteria group decision-making (MCGDM) with triangular fuzzy neutrosophic numbers (TFNNs) to propose the TFNNs-MABAC method. In the proposed method, we utilize the TFNNs to express the values of criteria for each alternative in MCGDM problems. First, we briefly acquaint the basic concept of TFNNs and describe its corresponding some operation laws, the functions of score and accuracy, and the normalized hamming distance. We then review two aggregation operators of TFNNs. Afterward, we combine the traditional MABAC method with the triangular fuzzy neutrosophic evaluation and provide a sequence of calculation procedures of the TFNNs-MABAC method. After comparing it with some TFNNs aggregation operators and another method, the results showed that our extended MABAC method can not only effectively handle the conflicting attributes, but also practically deal with incomplete and indeterminate information in the MCGDM problem. Therefore, the extended MABAC method is more effective, conformable, and reasonable. Finally, an investment selection problem is demonstrated as a practice to verify the reasonability of our MABAC method. Full article

With the increasing automation of mechanical equipment, fault diagnosis becomes more and more important. However, the factors that cause mechanical failures are becoming more and more complex, and the uncertainty and coupling between the factors are getting higher and higher. In order to solve the given problem, this paper proposes a single-valued neutrosophic set ISVNS algorithm for processing of uncertain and inaccurate information in fault diagnosis, which generates neutrosophic set by triangular fuzzy number and introduces the formula of the improved weighted correlation coefficient. Since both the single-valued neutrosophic set data and the ideal neutrosophic set data are considered, the proposed method solves the fault diagnosis problem more effectively. Finally, experiments show that the algorithm can significantly improve the accuracy degree of fault diagnosis, and can better satisfy the diagnostic requirements in practice. Full article

The foremost broadly utilized strategy for the valuation of the overall performance of a set of identical decision-making units (DMUs) that use analogous sources to yield related outputs is data envelopment analysis (DEA). However, the witnessed values of the symmetry or asymmetry of different types of information in real-world applications are sometimes inaccurate, ambiguous, inadequate, and inconsistent, so overlooking these conditions may lead to erroneous decision-making. Neutrosophic set theory can handle these occasions of data and makes an imitation of the decision-making procedure with the aid of thinking about all perspectives of the decision. In this paper, we introduce a model of DEA in the context of neutrosophic sets and sketch an innovative process to solve it. Furthermore, we deal with the problem of healthcare system evaluation with inconsistent, indeterminate, and incomplete information using the new model. The triangular single-valued neutrosophic numbers are also employed to deal with the mentioned data, and the proposed method is utilized in the assessment of 13 hospitals of Tehran University of Medical Sciences of Iran. The results exhibit the usefulness of the suggested approach and point out that the model has practical outcomes for decision-makers. Full article

This paper studies the problem of neutrosophic portfolios of financial assets as part of the modern portfolio theory. Neutrosophic portfolios comprise those categories of portfolios made up of financial assets for which the neutrosophic return, risk and covariance can be determined and which provide concomitant information regarding the probability of achieving the neutrosophic return, both at each financial asset and portfolio level and also information on the probability of manifestation of the neutrosophic risk. Neutrosophic portfolios are characterized by two fundamental performance indicators, namely: the neutrosophic portfolio return and the neutrosophic portfolio risk. Neutrosophic portfolio return is dependent on the weight of the financial assets in the total value of the portfolio but also on the specific neutrosophic return of each financial asset category that enters into the portfolio structure. The neutrosophic portfolio risk is dependent on the weight of the financial assets that enter the portfolio structure but also on the individual risk of each financial asset. Within this scientific paper was studied the minimum neutrosophic risk at the portfolio level, respectively, to establish what should be the weight that the financial assets must hold in the total value of the portfolio so that the risk is minimum. These financial assets weights, after calculations, were found to be dependent on the individual risk of each financial asset but also on the covariance between two financial assets that enter into the portfolio structure. The problem of the minimum risk that characterizes the neutrosophic portfolios is of interest for the financial market investors. Thus, the neutrosophic portfolios provide complete information about the probabilities of achieving the neutrosophic portfolio return but also of risk manifestation probability. In this context, the innovative character of the paper is determined by the use of the neutrosophic triangular fuzzy numbers and by the specific concepts of financial assets, in order to substantiating the decisions on the financial markets. This research sets the basis for modeling the performance indicators of financial assets using triangular neutrosophic fuzzy numbers. This type of number allows for the modeling of financial assets performance indicators by taking into consideration all the possible scenarios of their achievement. The key performance indicators (KPIs) modeled with the help of triangular fuzzy neutrosophic numbers are the return on financial assets, the financial assets risk, and the covariance between financial assets. Thus far, the return on financial assets has been studied using statistical indicators, like the arithmetic and geometric mean, or using the financial risk indicators with the help of the squared deviations from the mean and covariance. These indicators are well known as the basis of portfolio theory. This paper opens the perspective of modeling these three mentioned statistical indicators using triangular neutrosophic fuzzy numbers due to the major advantages they have. The first advantage of the neutrosophic approach is that it includes three possible symmetric scenarios of the KPIs achievement, namely the scenario of certainty, the scenario of non-realization, and the scenario of indecision, in which it cannot be appreciated whether the performance indicators are or are not achieved. The second big advantage is its data series clustering, representing the financial performance indicators by which these scenarios can be delimitated by means of neutrosophic fuzzy numbers in very good, good or weak performance indicators. This clustering is realized by means of the linguistic criteria and measuring the belonging degree to a class of indicators using fuzzy membership functions. The third major advantage is the selection of risk mitigation analysis scenarios and the formation of financial assets’ optimal portfolios. Full article

This research paper adds to the theory of the generalized neutrosophic number from a distinctive frame of reference. It is universally known that the concept of a neutrosophic number is generally associated with and strongly related to the concept of positive, indeterminacy and non-belongingness membership functions. Currently, all membership functions always lie within the range of 0 to 1. However, we have generated bipolar concept in this paper where the membership contains both positive and negative parts within the range −1 to 0 and 0 to 1. We describe different structures of generalized triangular bipolar neutrosophic numbers, such as category-1, category-2, and category-3, in relation to the membership functions containing dependency or independency with each other. Researchers from different fields always want to observe the co-relationship and interdependence between fuzzy numbers and crisp numbers. In this platform, we also created the perception of de-bipolarization for a triangular bipolar rneutrosophic number with the help of well-known techniques so that any bipolar neutrosophic fuzzy number of any type can be smoothly converted into a real number instantly. Creating a problem using bipolar neutrosophic perception is a more reliable, accurate, and trustworthy method than others. In this paper, we have also taken into account a multi-criteria decision-making problem (MCDM) for different users in the bipolar neutrosophic domain. Full article

Three-way decisions, as a decision-making mode which is consistent with human cognition, have been widely used in various fields. In this paper, we fuse the theory of reliability into the three-way decisions method, replace the conditional probability in the three-way decisions method with reliability, and then propose a novel three-way decisions method. We also describe the loss functions with single-valued triangular neutrosophic numbers (SVTNNs) and propose an operator to calculate the score function of triangular neutrosophic numbers. Then, the result of decision is attained according to the principle of minimizing loss. Finally, we apply this method to the overhaul of machines in a factory, which proves the practicability and effectiveness of the proposed methods. Full article

This research introduces a neutrosophic forecasting approach based on neutrosophic time series (NTS). Historical data can be transformed into neutrosophic time series data to determine their truth, indeterminacy and falsity functions. The basis for the neutrosophication process is the score and accuracy functions of historical data. In addition, neutrosophic logical relationship groups (NLRGs) are determined and a deneutrosophication method for NTS is presented. The objective of this research is to suggest an idea of first-and high-order NTS. By comparing our approach with other approaches, we conclude that the suggested approach of forecasting gets better results compared to the other existing approaches of fuzzy, intuitionistic fuzzy, and neutrosophic time series. Fuzzy clustering is widely used in business, biology, geography, coding for the internet and more. A single-valued neutrosophic set is a generalized fuzzy set, and its clustering algorithm has attracted more and more attention. An equivalence matrix is a common tool in clustering algorithms. At present, there exist no results constructing a single-valued neutrosophic number equivalence matrix using t-norm and t-conorm. First, the concept of a ( T , S ) -based composition matrix is defined in this paper, where ( T , S ) is a dual pair of triangular modules. Then, a ( T , S ) -based single-valued neutrosophic number equivalence matrix is given. A λ -cutting matrix of single-valued neutrosophic number matrix is also introduced. Moreover, their related properties are studied. Finally, an example and comparison experiment are given to illustrate the effectiveness and superiority of our proposed clustering algorithm. In this article, we combine the original VIKOR model with a triangular fuzzy neutrosophic set to propose the triangular fuzzy neutrosophic VIKOR method. In the extended method, we use the triangular fuzzy neutrosophic numbers (TFNNs) to present the criteria values in multiple criteria group decision making (MCGDM) problems. Firstly, we summarily introduce the fundamental concepts, operation formulas and distance calculating method of TFNNs. Then we review some aggregation operators of TFNNs. Thereafter, we extend the original VIKOR model to the triangular fuzzy neutrosophic environment and introduce the calculating steps of the TFNNs VIKOR method, our proposed method which is more reasonable and scientific for considering the conflicting criteria. Furthermore, a numerical example for potential evaluation of emerging technology commercialization is presented to illustrate the new method, and some comparisons are also conducted to further illustrate advantages of the new method. We define different types of linear and non-linear generalized triangular neutrosophic numbers which are very important for uncertainty theory. We introduced the de-neutrosophication concept for neutrosophic number for triangular neutrosophic numbers. This concept helps us to convert a neutrosophic number into a crisp number. Recently, there have been various extensions of the NS, such as single valued neutrosophic sets (SVNSs), Interval neutrosophic sets (INSs), bipolar neutrosophic sets (BNSs), Refined Neutrosophic Sets (RNSs), and triangular fuzzy number neutrosophic set (TFNNs). This paper contains an extended overview of the concept of NS as well as several instances and extensions of this model that have been introduced in the last decade, and have had a significant impact in literature.
