Visible-Infrared Person Re-Identification (VI-ReID) is of crucial importance in applications such as monitoring and security. However, challenges faced from intra-class variations and cross-modal differences are often exacerbated by inaccurate infrared analysis and insufficient structural modeling. To address these issues, we propose Parsing-guided Differential Enhancement Graph Learning (PDEGL), a novel framework that learns discriminative representations through a dual-branch architecture synergizing global feature refinement with part-based structural graph analysis. In particular, we introduce a Differential Infrared Part Enhancement (DIPE) module to correct infrared parsing errors and a Parsing Structural Graph (PSG) module to model high-order topological relationships between body parts for structural consistency matching. Furthermore, we design a Position-sensitive Spatial-Channel Attention (PSCA) module to enhance global feature discriminability. Extensive evaluations on the SYSU-MM01, RegDB, and LLCM datasets demonstrate that our PDEGL method achieves competitive performance. Full article

In the digital transformation era, understanding the relationship between digital and real economies is vital for regional development. This study analyses the interaction between these two economies in Henan Province using panel data from 18 cities (2011–2023). It incorporates policy support intensity through fuzzy set theory, applies an integrated weighting method to measure development levels, and uses regression models to assess the digital economy’s impact on the real economy. The coupling coordination degree model, kernel density estimation, and Gini coefficient reveal the coordination status and spatial distribution, while the ecological Lotka–Volterra model identifies the symbiotic patterns. The key findings are as follows: (1) The digital economy does not directly determine the state of the real economy. For example, cities such as Zhoukou and Zhumadian have low digital economy levels but high real economy levels. However, the development of the digital economy promotes the real economy without signs of diminishing returns. (2) The two economies are generally coordinated but differ spatially, with greater coordination in the Central Plains urban agglomeration. (3) The digital and real economies exhibit both collaboration and competition, with reciprocal mutualism as the dominant mode of integration. These insights provide guidance for policymakers and offer a new perspective on the integration of both economies. Full article

This paper presents the multi-triangular ring and self-routing protocol (MTRSRP), which is a new decentralized strategy designed to boost throughput and network efficiency in multiring scatternets. MTRSRP comprises two primary phases: leader election and scatternet formation, which collaborate to establish an effective multi-triangular ring topology. In the leader election phase, nodes exchange broadcast messages to gather neighbor information and elect coordinators through a competitive process. The scatternet formation phase determines the optimal number of rings based on the coordinator’s collected node information and predefined rules. The master nodes then send unicast connection requests to establish piconets within the scatternet, following a predefined role table. Intra- and inter-bridge nodes were activated to interconnect the piconets, creating a cohesive multi-triangular ring scatternet. Additionally, MTRSRP incorporates a self-routing addressing scheme within the triangular ring architecture, optimizing packet transmission paths and reducing overhead by utilizing master/slave relationships established during scatternet formation. Simulation results indicate that MTRSRP with dual-bridge connectivity outperforms the cluster-based on-demand routing protocol and Bluetooth low-energy mesh schemes in key network transmission performance metrics such as the transmission rate, packet delay, and delivery ratio. In summary, MTRSRP significantly enhances throughput, optimizes routing paths, and improves network efficiency in multi-ring scatternets through its multi-triangular ring topology and self-routing capabilities. To explore the characteristics of species diversity and phylogenetic diversity, as well as the dominant processes of community construction, in different forest types (deciduous broad-leaved forest, mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forest, and Chinese fir plantation) in subtropical regions, analyze the specific driving patterns of soil nutrients and other environmental factors on the formation of forest diversity in different forest types, and clarify the differences in response to environmental heterogeneity between natural forests and plantation forests. Based on 48 fixed monitoring plots of 50 m × 50 m in Shouchang Forest Farm, Jiande City, Zhejiang Province, woody plants with a diameter at breast height ≥5 cm were investigated. Species diversity indices (Margalef index, Shannon–Wiener index, Simpson index, and Pielou index), phylogenetic structure index (PD), and environmental factors were used to analyze the relationship between diversity characteristics and environmental factors through variance analysis, correlation analysis, and generalized linear models. Phylogenetic structural indices (NRI and NTI) were used, combined with a random zero model, to explore the mechanisms of community construction in different forest types. Research has found that (1) the deciduous broad-leaved forest had the highest species diversity (Margalef index of 4.121 ± 1.425) and phylogenetic diversity (PD index of 21.265 ± 7.796), significantly higher than the mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forest and the Chinese fir plantation (p < 0.05); (2) there is a significant positive correlation between species richness and phylogenetic diversity, with the best fit being AIC = 70.5636 and R2 = 0.9419 in broad-leaved forests; however, the contribution of evenness is limited; (3) the specific effects of soil factors on different forest types: available phosphorus (AP) is negatively correlated with the diversity of deciduous broad-leaved forests (p < 0.05), total phosphorus (TP) promotes the diversity of coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forests, while the diversity of Chinese fir plantations is significantly negatively correlated with total nitrogen (TN); (4) the phylogenetic structure of three different forest types shows a divergent pattern in deciduous broad-leaved forests, indicating that competition and exclusion dominate the construction of deciduous broad-leaved forests; the aggregation mode of Chinese fir plantation indicates that environmental filtering dominates the construction of Chinese fir plantation; the mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forest is a transitional model, indicating that the mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forest is influenced by both stochastic processes and ecological niche processes. In different forest types in subtropical regions, the species and phylogenetic diversity of broad-leaved forests is significantly higher than in other forest types. The impact of soil nutrients on the diversity of different forest types varies, and the characteristics of community construction in different forest types are also different. This indicates the importance of protecting the original vegetation and provides a scientific basis for improving the ecological function of artificial forest ecosystems through structural adjustment. The research results have important practical guidance value for sustainable forest management and biodiversity conservation in the region. Full article

The introduction of mobile banking is essential in today’s financial sector, where technological innovation plays a critical role. To remain competitive in the current market, businesses must analyze client attitudes and perspectives, as these influence long-term demand and overall profitability. While previous studies have explored general adoption behaviors, limited research has examined how individual factors such as social influence, lifestyle compatibility, financial technology self-efficacy, and perceived usage cost affect mobile banking adoption among specific generational cohorts. This study addresses that gap by offering insights into these variables, contributing to the growing literature on mobile banking adoption, and presenting actionable recommendations for financial institutions targeting younger market segments. Using a structured questionnaire survey, data were collected from both users and non-users of mobile banking among the Gen Z population in the United States. The regression model significantly predicts mobile banking adoption, with an intercept of 0.548 (p < 0.001). Among the independent variables, perceived cost of usage has the strongest positive effect on adoption (B=0.857, β=0.722, p < 0.001), suggesting that adoption increases when mobile banking is perceived as more affordable. Social influence also has a significant positive impact (B=0.642, β=0.643, p < 0.001), indicating that peer influence is a central driver of adoption decisions. However, self-efficacy shows a significant negative relationship (B=0.343, β=0.339, p < 0.001), and lifestyle compatibility was found to be statistically insignificant (p=0.615). These findings suggest that reducing perceived costs, through lower fees, data bundling, or clearer communication about affordability, can directly enhance adoption among Gen Z consumers. Furthermore, leveraging peer influence via referral rewards, Partnerships with influencers, and in-app social features can increase user adoption. Since digital self-efficacy presents a barrier for some, banks should prioritize simplifying user interfaces and offering guided assistance, such as tutorials or chat-based support. Future research may employ longitudinal designs or analyze real-life transaction data for a more objective understanding of behavior. Additional variables like trust, perceived risk, and regulatory policies, not included in this study, should be integrated into future models to offer a more comprehensive analysis. Full article

Participation in organized sport is widely encouraged for youth development, yet positive outcomes are not guaranteed. Parents play a pivotal role in shaping young athletes’ experiences, requiring emotional support, interpersonal skills, and self-regulation. This study examines the meanings parents attribute to their children’s sports participation and how young athletes construct their experiences under parental and coaching influences. An interpretive phenomenological methodology involved semi-structured interviews with coaches, focus groups with parents, and open-ended questionnaires to young athletes. Seventeen players (M = 11.2 years, SD = 0.59), nineteen parents (M = 47.6 years, SD = 3.61), and two coaches from the same football club volunteered to participate in the study. Participants were selected through purposive sampling to ensure a homogeneous experience. The findings reveal that parental involvement balances support and pressure, while trust-building between parents and coaches significantly impacts the athletes’ experiences. The evolving role of technology and the importance of social dynamics within teams also emerged as critical factors. Intrinsic motivation, fostering emotional bonding through the sport, and adopting a developmental rather than purely competitive framework were emphasized factors identified as supporting positive youth sport experiences. These findings offer insights into how interconnected relationships among parents, coaches, and athletes influence children’s sports engagement and development. Full article

The present study focuses on the attractiveness and perceived value of differentiated quality labels, such as the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) and Protected Geographical Indication (PGI), for agri-food products from Extremadura (Spain). In doing so, it addresses a gap in the scientific literature concerning consumer behavior toward products bearing these certifications. The results show that awareness of these quality schemes is significantly higher among middle-aged and older individuals, underscoring the need for more modern and targeted communication strategies. The findings highlight the strategic role of agri-food marketing in promoting certified products and emphasize the importance of bridging the generational gap in consumer education. Overall, differentiated quality schemes are perceived as strategic tools to enhance the competitiveness of local products, strengthen cultural identity, and foster sustainable rural economies. Furthermore, this study identifies a negative relationship between the consumption of certified products and the awareness of certification and a positive relationship with the willingness to pay a premium. Consumers with greater awareness tend consume these products less, although they are more willing to pay higher prices for items bearing quality labels. Full article

As economically important sympatric species in the Northwest Pacific, the Japanese sardine (Sardinops melanostictus) and Chub mackerel (Scomber japonicus) exhibit significant biological interactions. Understanding the impact of interspecies competition on their habitat dynamics can provide crucial insights for the sustainable development and management of these interconnected species resources. This study utilizes fisheries data of S. melanostictus and S. japonicus from the Northwest Pacific, collected from June to November between 2017 and 2020. We integrated various environmental parameters, including temperature at different depths (0, 50, 100, 150, and 200 m), eddy kinetic energy (EKE), sea surface height (SSH), chlorophyll-a concentration (Chl-a), and the oceanic Niño index (ONI), to construct interspecific competition species distribution model (icSDM) for both species. We validated these models by overlaying the predicted habitats with fisheries data from 2021 and performing cross-validation to assess the models’ reliability. Furthermore, we conducted correlation analyses of the habitats of these two species to evaluate the impact of interspecies relationships on their habitat dynamics. The results indicate that, compared to single-species habitat models, the interspecific competition species distribution model (icSDM) for these two species exhibit a significantly higher explanatory power, with R2 values increasing by up to 0.29; interspecific competition significantly influences the habitat dynamics of S. melanostictus and S. japonicus, strengthening the correlation between their habitat changes. This relationship exhibits a positive correlation at specific stages, with the highest correlations observed in June, July, and October, at 0.81, 0.80, and 0.88, respectively; interspecific competition also demonstrates stage-specific differences in its impact on the habitat dynamics of S. melanostictus and S. japonicus, with the most pronounced differences occurring in August and November. Compared to S. melanostictus, interspecific competition is more beneficial for the expansion of the optimal habitat (HIS ≥ 0.6) for S. japonicus and, to some extent, inhibits the habitat expansion of S. melanostictus. The variation in migratory routes and predatory interactions (with larger individuals of S. japonicus preying on smaller individuals of S. melanostictus) likely constitutes the primary factors contributing to these observed differences. Smart Money, Greener Future: AI-Enhanced English Financial Text Processing for ESG Investment Decisions

Emerging markets face growing pressures to integrate sustainable English business practices while maintaining economic growth, particularly in addressing environmental challenges and achieving carbon neutrality goals. English Financial information extraction becomes crucial for supporting green finance initiatives, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) compliance, and sustainable investment decisions in these markets. This paper presents FinATG, an AI-driven autoregressive framework for extracting sustainability-related English financial information from English texts, specifically designed to support emerging markets in their transition toward sustainable development. The framework addresses the complex challenges of processing ESG reports, green bond disclosures, carbon footprint assessments, and sustainable investment documentation prevalent in emerging economies. FinATG introduces a domain-adaptive span representation method fine-tuned on sustainability-focused English financial corpora, implements constrained decoding mechanisms based on green finance regulations, and integrates FinBERT with autoregressive generation for end-to-end extraction of environmental and governance information. While achieving competitive performance on standard benchmarks, FinATG’s primary contribution lies in its architecture, which prioritizes correctness and compliance for the high-stakes financial domain. Experimental validation demonstrates FinATG’s effectiveness with entity F1 scores of 88.5 and REL F1 scores of 80.2 on standard English datasets, while achieving superior performance (85.7–86.0 entity F1, 73.1–74.0 REL+ F1) on sustainability-focused financial datasets. The framework particularly excels in extracting carbon emission data, green investment relationships, and ESG compliance indicators, achieving average AUC and RGR scores of 0.93 and 0.89 respectively. By automating the extraction of sustainability metrics from complex English financial documents, FinATG supports emerging markets in meeting international ESG standards, facilitating green finance flows, and enhancing transparency in sustainable business practices, ultimately contributing to their sustainable development goals and climate action commitments. The aim of this article is to identify key factors shaping organizational agility as a determinant of the sustainable development of an organization in the conditions of Economy 5.0. The research used the survey method conducted in 2024 on a sample of 312 respondents. It analyzed the impact of decision-making processes, identification with the goals of the organization, tolerance of rapid changes, internal communication, internal motivation and implementation of the idea of work–life balance. Based on the results, an original mathematical model was constructed presenting the relationships between the analyzed variables. The research results confirmed a significant relationship between the level of organizational agility and the ability of the organization to implement the sustainable development strategy. It was identified that factors such as quick and accurate decision-making, strong identification of employees with the goals of the organization and efficient communication have the greatest impact on strengthening this ability. The limitation of the research was the homogeneity of the sample and the inability to fully take into account variables related to the industry and cultural context. The research highlights that enhancing organizational agility is crucial for achieving sustainable development and building lasting competitive advantage in the dynamic context of the Economy 5.0. Rowing is a cyclic sport that consists of repetitive biomechanical actions, with performance being influenced by the balance between propulsive and resistive forces. The current study aimed to assess the relationships between intracycle velocity variation (IVV) and key biomechanical and performance variables in male and female single scullers. Twenty-three experienced rowers (10 females) completed a 2000 m rowing competition, during which boat position and velocity were measured using a 15 Hz GPS, while cycle rate was derived from the integrated triaxial accelerometer sampling at 100 Hz. From these data, it was possible to calculate distance per cycle, IVV, the coefficient of velocity variation (CVV), and technical index values. Males presented higher mean, maximum and minimum velocity, distance per cycle, CVV, and technical index values than females (15.40 ± 0.81 vs. 13.36 ± 0.88 km/h, d = 0.84; 21.39 ± 1.68 vs. 18.77 ± 1.52 km/h, d = 1.61; 11.15 ± 1.81 vs. 9.03 ± 0.85 km/h, d = 1.45; 7.68 ± 0.32 vs. 6.89 ± 0.97 m, d = 0.69; 14.13 ± 2.02 vs. 11.64 ± 1.93%, d = 2.06; and 34.25 ± 4.82 vs. 26.30 ± 4.23 (m2/s·cycle), d = 4.56, respectively). An association between mean velocity and intracycle IVV, CVV, and cycle rate (r = 0.68, 0.74 and 0.65, respectively) was observed in males but not in female single scullers (which may be attributed to anthropometric specificities). In female single scullers, mean velocity was related with distance per cycle and was associated with technical index in both males and females (r = 0.76 and 0.66, respectively). Despite these differences, male and female single scullers adopted similar pacing strategies and CVV remained constant throughout the 2000 m race (indicating that this variable might not be affected by fatigue). Differences were also observed in the velocity–time profile, with men reaching peak velocity first and having a faster propulsive phase. Data provided new information on how IVV and CVV relate to commonly used biomechanical variables in rowing. Technical index (r = 0.87): distance per cycle was associated with technical index in both males and females (r = 0.76 and 0.66, respectively). Future studies should include other boat classes and other performance variables such as the power output and arc length. Full article

Entropy is a foundational concept across scientific domains, playing a role in understanding disorder, randomness, and uncertainty within systems. This study applies Shannon’s entropy in information theory to evaluate and manage complexity in industrial supply chain management. The purpose of the study is to propose a quantitative modeling method, employing Shannon’s entropy model as a proxy to assess the complexity in SCs. The underlying assumption is that information entropy serves as a proxy for the complexity of the SC. The research method is quantitative modeling, which is applied to four focal companies from the agrifood and metalworking industries in Southern Brazil. The results showed that companies prioritizing cost and quality exhibit lower complexity compared to those emphasizing flexibility and dependability. Additionally, information flows related to specially engineered products and deliveries show significant differences in average entropies, indicating that organizational complexities vary according to competitive priorities. The implications of this suggest that a focus on cost and quality in SCM may lead to lower complexity, in opposition to a focus on flexibility and dependability, influencing strategic decision making in industrial contexts. This research introduces the novel application of information entropy to assess and control complexity within industrial SCs. Future studies can explore and validate these insights, contributing to the evolving field of supply chain management. Full article

Image captioning plays a crucial role in aligning visual content with natural language, serving as a key step toward effective cross-modal understanding. Transformer has become the dominant language model in image captioning. Existing Transformer-based models seldom highlight important features from multiple views in the use of self-attention. In this paper, we propose MFEAM, an innovative network that leverages the multi-view feature enhanced attention. To accurately represent the entangled features of vision and text, the teacher model employs the multi-view feature enhanced attention to guide the student model training through knowledge distillation and model averaging from both visual and textual views. To mitigate the impact of excessive feature enhancement, the student model divides the decoding layer into two groups, which separately process instance features and the relationships between instances. Experimental results demonstrate that MFEAM attains competitive performance on the MSCOCO (Microsoft Common Objects in Context) when trained without leveraging external data. Full article

Stock price forecasting remains a persistent challenge in time series analysis due to complex inter-stock relationships and dynamic textual signals such as financial news. While Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) can model relational structures, they often struggle with capturing higher-order dependencies and are sensitive to noise. Moreover, sentiment signals are typically aggregated using fixed time windows, which may introduce temporal bias. To address these issues, we propose DASF-Net (Diffusion-Aware Sentiment Fusion Network), a multimodal framework that integrates structural and textual information for robust prediction. DASF-Net leverages diffusion processes over two complementary financial graphs—one based on industry relationships, the other on fundamental indicators—to learn richer stock representations. Simultaneously, sentiment embeddings extracted from financial news using FinBERT are aggregated over an empirically optimized window to preserve temporal relevance. These modalities are fused via a multi-head attention mechanism and passed to a temporal forecasting module. DASF-Net integrates daily stock prices and news sentiment, using a 3-day sentiment aggregation window, to forecast stock prices over daily horizons (1–3 days). Experiments on 12 large-cap S&P 500 stocks over four years demonstrate that DASF-Net outperforms competitive baselines, achieving up to 91.6% relative reduction in Mean Squared Error (MSE). Results highlight the effectiveness of combining graph diffusion and sentiment-aware features for improved financial forecasting. Full article

In the increasingly competitive landscape of higher education, student satisfaction and loyalty are recognized as essential components for institutional sustainability and long-term success. This study aims to examine the interrelationships between service quality, technological innovation, student satisfaction, and student loyalty within higher education institutions in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). Grounded in relationship marketing theory and the expectancy–disconfirmation paradigm, the research develops and tests a structural model that investigates the impact of perceived service quality on technological innovation, student satisfaction, and loyalty. The data were collected from 448 undergraduate students studying in the faculties of education at five leading private universities in TRNC, selected based on their international academic rankings. The analysis, conducted using structural equation modelling (SEM), reveals that service quality significantly and directly influences technological innovation, student satisfaction, and student loyalty. Additionally, technological innovation has a positive but comparatively weaker effect on student loyalty. Among the variables, student satisfaction emerges as the strongest determinant of loyalty, serving as a key mediator in the relationship between service quality and loyalty. This research contributes to the higher education literature by extending the traditional service quality–loyalty framework with the inclusion of technological innovation. The findings offer practical insights for university administrators, emphasizing the importance of delivering high-quality educational services combined with continuous digital innovation to enhance the student experience and foster long-term student commitment.
