In the 6G era, the proliferation of smart devices has led to explosive growth in data volume. The traditional cloud computing can no longer meet the demand for efficient processing of large amounts of data. Edge computing can solve the energy loss problems caused by transmission delay and multi-level forwarding in cloud computing by processing data close to the data source. In this paper, we propose a cloud–edge–end collaborative task offloading strategy with task response time and execution energy consumption as the optimization targets under a limited resource environment. The tasks generated by smart devices can be processed using three kinds of computing nodes, including user devices, edge servers, and cloud servers. The computing nodes are constrained by bandwidth and computing resources. For the target optimization problem, a genetic particle swarm optimization algorithm considering three layers of computing nodes is designed. The task offloading optimization is performed by introducing (1) opposition-based learning algorithm, (2) adaptive inertia weights, and (3) adjustive acceleration coefficients. All metaheuristic algorithms adopt a symmetric training method to ensure fairness and consistency in evaluation. Through experimental simulation, compared with the classic evolutionary algorithm, our algorithm reduces the objective function value by about 6–12% and has higher algorithm convergence speed, accuracy, and stability. This article presents VRF-DETR, a lightweight real-time object detection framework for aerial remote sensing images, aimed at addressing the challenge of insufficient receptive fields for easily confused categories due to differences in height and perspective. Based on the RT-DETR architecture, our approach introduces three key innovations: the multi-scale receptive field adaptive fusion (MSRF2) module replaces the Transformer encoder with parallel dilated convolutions and spatial-channel attention to adjust receptive fields for confusing objects dynamically; the gated multi-scale context (GMSC) block reconstructs the backbone using Gated Multi-Scale Context units with attention-gated convolution (AGConv), reducing parameters while enhancing multi-scale feature extraction; and the context-guided fusion (CGF) module optimizes feature fusion via context-guided weighting to resolve multi-scale semantic conflicts. Evaluations were conducted on both the VisDrone2019 and UAVDT datasets, where VRF-DETR achieved the mAP50 of 52.1% and the mAP50-95 of 32.2% on the VisDrone2019 validation set, surpassing RT-DETR by 4.9% and 3.5%, respectively, while reducing parameters by 32% and FLOPs by 22%. It maintains real-time performance (62.1 FPS) and generalizes effectively, outperforming state-of-the-art methods in accuracy-efficiency trade-offs for aerial object detection. Full article

In this paper, a joint Matching Field Processing (MFP) Algorithm based on horizontal uniform circular array (UCA) is proposed for three-dimensional position of underwater wrecked targets. Firstly, a Marine search and rescue position model based on Minimum Variance Distortionless Response (MVDR) and matching field quadratic joint Algorithm was proposed. Secondly, an MVDR beamforming method based on pre-Kalman filtering is designed to refine the real-time DOA estimation of the desired signal and the interference source, and the sound source azimuth is determined for prepositioning. The antenna array weights are dynamically adjusted according to the filtered DOA information. Finally, the Adaptive Matching Field Algorithm (AMFP) used the DOA information to calculate the range and depth of the lost target, and obtained the range and depth estimates. Thus, the 3D position of the lost underwater target is jointly estimated. This method alleviates the angle ambiguity problem and does not require a computationally intensive 2D spectral search. The simulation results show that the proposed method can better realise underwater three-dimensional positioning under certain signal-to-noise ratio conditions. When there is no error in the sensor coordinates, the positioning error is smaller than that of the baseline method as the SNR increases. When the SNR is 0 dB, with the increase in the sensor coordinate error, the target location error increases but is smaller than the error amplitude of the benchmark Algorithm. The experimental results verify the robustness of the proposed framework in the hierarchical ocean environment, which provides a practical basis for the deployment of rapid response underwater positioning systems in maritime search and rescue scenarios. Coarse-grained soils serve as essential fill materials in earth–rock dam engineering, where their mechanical properties critically influence dam deformation and stability, directly impacting project safety. Artificial intelligence (AI) techniques are emerging as powerful tools for predicting the mechanical properties of coarse-grained soils. However, AI-based prediction models for these properties face persistent challenges, particularly in parameter tuning—a process requiring substantial computational resources, extensive time, and specialized expertise. To address these limitations, this study proposes a novel prediction model that integrates Adaptive Simulated Annealing (ASA) with an improved Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm to optimize the Elman Neural Network (ENN). The methodology encompasses three key aspects: First, the standard PSO algorithm is enhanced by dynamically adjusting its inertial weight and learning factors. The ASA algorithm is then employed to optimize the Adaptive PSO (APSO), effectively mitigating premature convergence and local optima entrapment during training, thereby ensuring convergence to the global optimum. Second, the refined PSO algorithm optimizes the ENN, overcoming its inherent limitations of slow convergence and susceptibility to local minima. Finally, validation through real-world engineering case studies demonstrates that the ASA-PSO-optimized ENN model achieves high accuracy in predicting the mechanical properties of coarse-grained soils. This model provides reliable constitutive parameters for stress–strain analysis in earth–rock dam engineering applications. Full article

This paper addresses the trajectory tracking control problem of underactuated ships in ocean engineering, which faces the dual challenges of tracking error time–performance regulation and robustness design due to the system’s underactuated characteristics, model uncertainties, and external disturbances. Aiming to address the issues of traditional finite-time control (convergence time dependent on initial states) and fixed-time control (control chattering and parameter conservativeness), this paper proposes a predefined-time adaptive control framework that integrates an event-triggered mechanism and neural networks. By constructing a Lyapunov function with time-varying weights and designing non-periodic dynamically updated dual triggering conditions, the convergence process of tracking errors is strictly constrained within a user-prespecified time window without relying on initial states or introducing non-smooth terms. An adaptive approximator based on radial basis function neural networks (RBF-NNs) is employed to compensate for unknown nonlinear dynamics and external disturbances in real-time. Combined with the event-triggered mechanism, it dynamically adjusts the update instances of control inputs, ensuring prespecified tracking accuracy while significantly reducing computational resource consumption. Theoretical analysis shows that all signals in the closed-loop system are uniformly ultimately bounded, tracking errors converge to a neighborhood of the origin within the predefined-time, and the update frequency of control inputs exhibits a linear relationship with the predefined-time, avoiding Zeno behavior. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method in complex marine environments. Compared with traditional control strategies, it achieves more accurate trajectory tracking, faster response, and a substantial reduction in control input update frequency, providing an efficient solution for the engineering implementation of embedded control systems in unmanned ships. Research on Path Planning Method for Mobile Platforms Based on Hybrid Swarm Intelligence Algorithms in Multi-Dimensional Environments

Traditional algorithms such as Dijkstra and APF rely on complete environmental information for path planning, which results in numerous constraints during modeling. This not only increases the complexity of the algorithms but also reduces the efficiency and reliability of the planning. Swarm intelligence algorithms possess strong data processing and search capabilities, enabling them to efficiently solve path planning problems in different environments and generate approximately optimal paths. However, swarm intelligence algorithms suffer from issues like premature convergence and a tendency to fall into local optima during the search process. Thus, an improved Artificial Bee Colony-Beetle Antennae Search (IABCBAS) algorithm is proposed. Firstly, Tent chaos and non-uniform variation are introduced into the bee algorithm to enhance population diversity and spatial searchability. Secondly, the stochastic reverse learning mechanism and greedy strategy are incorporated into the beetle antennae search algorithm to improve direction-finding ability and the capacity to escape local optima, respectively. Finally, the weights of the two algorithms are adaptively adjusted to balance global search and local refinement. Results of experiments using nine benchmark functions and four comparative algorithms show that the improved algorithm exhibits superior path point search performance and high stability in both high- and low-dimensional environments, as well as in unimodal and multimodal environments. Ablation experiment results indicate that the optimization strategies introduced in the algorithm effectively improve convergence accuracy and speed during path planning. Results of the path planning experiments show that compared with the comparison algorithms, the average path planning distance of the improved algorithm is reduced by 23.83% in the 2D multi-obstacle environment, and the average planning time is shortened by 27.97% in the 3D surface environment. The improvement in path planning efficiency makes this algorithm of certain value in engineering applications. Full article

To address the degradation in localization accuracy caused by insufficient robustness of filter parameters and inefficient multi-trajectory data fusion in dynamic environments, this paper proposes a Kalman filter-based localization calibration method optimized by reinforcement learning and information matrix fusion (RL-IMKF). An actor–critic reinforcement learning network is designed to adaptively adjust the state covariance matrix, enhancing the Kalman filter’s adaptability to environmental changes. Meanwhile, a multi-trajectory information matrix fusion strategy is introduced, which aggregates multiple trajectories in the information domain via weighted inverse covariance matrices to suppress error propagation and improve system consistency. Experiments using both simulated and real-world sensor data demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms traditional extended Kalman filter approaches in terms of localization accuracy and stability, providing a novel solution for cooperative localization calibration of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) swarms in dynamic environments. Synthetic aperture radar (SAR), as an active microwave imaging system, has the capability of all-weather and all-time observation. In response to the challenges of aircraft detection in SAR images due to the complex background interference caused by the continuous scattering of airport buildings and the demand for real-time processing, this paper proposes a YOLOv7-MTI recognition model that combines the attention mechanism and involution. By integrating the MTCN module and involution, performance is enhanced. The Multi-TASP-Conv network (MTCN) module aims to effectively extract low-level semantic and spatial information using a shared lightweight attention gate structure to achieve cross-dimensional interaction between “channels and space” with very few parameters, capturing the dependencies among multiple dimensions and improving feature representation ability. Involution helps the model adaptively adjust the weights of spatial positions through dynamic parameterized convolution kernels, strengthening the discrete strong scattering points specific to aircraft and suppressing the continuous scattering of the background, thereby alleviating the interference of complex backgrounds. Experiments on the SAR-AIRcraft-1.0 dataset, which includes seven categories such as A220, A320/321, A330, ARJ21, Boeing737, Boeing787, and others, show that the mAP and mRecall of YOLOv7-MTI reach 93.51% and 96.45%, respectively, outperforming Faster R-CNN, SSD, YOLOv5, YOLOv7, and YOLOv8. Compared with the basic YOLOv7, mAP is improved by 1.47%, mRecall by 1.64%, and FPS by 8.27%, achieving an effective balance between accuracy and speed, providing research ideas for SAR aircraft recognition. Multimodal object detection leverages the complementary characteristics of visible (RGB) and infrared (IR) imagery, making it well-suited for challenging scenarios such as low illumination, occlusion, and complex backgrounds. However, most existing fusion-based methods rely on static or heuristic strategies, limiting their adaptability to dynamic environments. To address this limitation, we propose CLSANet, a cognitive learning-based self-adaptive network that enhances detection performance by dynamically selecting and integrating modality-specific features. CLSANet consists of three key modules: (1) a Dominant Modality Identification Module that selects the most informative modality based on global scene analysis; (2) a Modality Enhancement Module that disentangles and strengthens shared and modality-specific representations; and (3) a Self-Adaptive Fusion Module that adjusts fusion weights spatially according to local scene complexity. Compared to existing methods, CLSANet achieves state-of-the-art detection performance with significantly fewer parameters and lower computational cost. Ablation studies further demonstrate the individual effectiveness of each module under different environmental conditions, particularly in low-light and occluded scenes. CLSANet offers a compact, interpretable, and practical solution for multimodal object detection in resource-constrained settings. Full article

Effect of Enterobacter bugandensis R-18 on Maize Growth Promotion Under Salt Stress

Soil salinization poses a significant constraint to agricultural productivity. However, certain plant growth-promoting bacteria (PGPB) can mitigate salinity stress and enhance crop performance. In this study, a bacterial isolate, R-18, isolated from saline-alkali soil in Ningxia, China, was identified as Enterobacter bugandensis based on 16S rRNA gene sequencing. The isolate was characterized for its morphological, biochemical, and plant growth-promoting traits and was evaluated for its potential to alleviate NaCl-induced stress in maize (Zea mays L.) under hydroponic conditions. Isolate R-18 exhibited halotolerance, surviving at NaCl concentrations ranging from 2.0% to 10.0%, and alkaliphilic adaptation, growing at pH 8.0–11.0. Biochemical assays confirmed it as a Gram-negative bacterium, displaying positive reactions in the Voges–Proskauer (V–P) tests, catalase activity, citrate utilization, fluorescent pigment production, starch hydrolysis, gelatin liquefaction, and ammonia production, while testing negative for the methyl red and cellulose hydrolysis. Notably, isolate R-18 demonstrated multiple plant growth-promoting attributes, including nitrogen fixation, phosphate and potassium solubilization, ACC deaminase activity, and indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) biosynthesis. Under 100 mM NaCl stress, inoculation with isolate R-18 significantly enhanced maize growth, increasing plant height, stem dry weight, root fresh weight, and root dry weight by 20.64%, 47.06%, 34.52%, and 31.25%, respectively. Furthermore, isolate R-18 improved ion homeostasis by elevating the K+/Na+ ratio in maize tissues. Physiological analyses revealed increased chlorophyll and proline content, alongside reduced malondialdehyde (MDA) levels, indicating mitigated oxidative damage. Antioxidant enzyme activity was modulated, with decreased superoxide dismutase (SOD) and peroxidase (POD) activities but increased catalase (CAT) activity. These findings demonstrated that Enterobacter bugandensis R-18 effectively alleviated NaCl-induced growth inhibition in maize by enhancing osmotic adjustment, reducing oxidative stress, and improving ion balance. Drones can improve the efficiency of point-to-point logistics and distribution and reduce labor costs; however, the complex three-dimensional airspace environment poses significant challenges for flight paths. To address this demand, this paper proposes a hybrid algorithm that integrates the Sparrow Search Algorithm (SSA) with the African Vulture Optimization Algorithm (AVOA). Firstly, the algorithm introduces Sobol sequences at the population initialization stage to optimize the initial population; then, we incorporate SSA’s discoverer and vigilant mechanisms to balance exploration and exploitation and enhance global exploration capabilities; finally, multi-guide differencing and dynamic rotation transformation strategies are introduced in the first exploitation phase to enhance the direction of local exploitation by fusing multiple pieces of information; the second exploitation phase achieved a dynamic balance between elite guidance and population diversity through adaptive weight adjustment and enhanced Lévy flight strategy. In this paper, a three-dimensional model is built under a variety of constraints, and SAVOA (Sparrow-Enhanced African Vulture Optimization Algorithm) is compared with a variety of popular algorithms in simulation experiments. SAVOA achieves the optimal path in all scenarios, verifying the efficiency and superiority of the algorithm in UAV logistics path planning. Full article

Temporal action localization (TAL) is a research hotspot in video understanding, which aims to locate and classify actions in videos. However, existing methods have difficulties in capturing long-term actions due to focusing on local temporal information, which leads to poor performance in localizing long-term temporal sequences. In addition, most methods ignore the boundary importance for action instances, resulting in inaccurate localized boundaries. To address these issues, this paper proposes a state space model for temporal action localization, called Separated Bidirectional Mamba (SBM), which innovatively understands frame changes from the perspective of state transformation. It adapts to different sequence lengths and incorporates state information from the forward and backward for each frame through forward Mamba and backward Mamba to obtain more comprehensive action representations, enhancing modeling capabilities for long-term temporal sequences. Moreover, this paper designs a Boundary Correction Strategy (BCS). It calculates the contribution of each frame to action instances based on the pre-localized results, then adjusts weights of frames in boundary regression to ensure the boundaries are shifted towards the frames with higher contributions, leading to more accurate boundaries. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, this paper reports mean Average Precision (mAP) under temporal Intersection over Union (tIoU) thresholds on four challenging benchmarks: THUMOS13, ActivityNet-1.3, HACS, and FineAction, where the proposed method achieves mAPs of 73.7%, 42.0%, 45.2%, and 29.1%, respectively, surpassing the state-of-the-art approaches. To address the limitations in multi-scale feature processing and illumination sensitivity of existing steel surface defect detection algorithms, we proposed ADP-YOLOv8-n, enhancing accuracy and computational efficiency through advanced feature fusion and optimized network architecture. Firstly, an adaptive weighted down-sampling (ADSConv) module was proposed, which improves detector adaptability to diverse defects via the weighted fusion of down-sampled feature maps. Next, the C2f_DWR module was proposed, integrating optimized C2F architecture with a streamlined DWR design to enhance feature extraction efficiency while reducing computational complexity. Then, a Multi-Scale-Focus Diffusion Pyramid was designed to adaptively handle multi-scale object detection by dynamically adjusting feature fusion, thus reducing feature redundancy and information loss while maintaining a balance between detailed and global information. Experiments demonstrate that the proposed ADP-YOLOv8-n detection algorithm achieves superior performance, effectively balancing detection accuracy, inference speed, and model compactness. In recent years, a growing number of real-time semantic segmentation networks have been developed to improve segmentation accuracy. However, these advancements often come at the cost of increased computational complexity, which limits their inference efficiency, particularly in scenarios such as autonomous driving, where strict real-time performance is essential. Achieving an effective balance between speed and accuracy has thus become a central challenge in this field. To address this issue, we present a lightweight semantic segmentation model tailored for the perception requirements of autonomous vehicles. The architecture follows an encoder–decoder paradigm, which not only preserves the capability for deep feature extraction but also facilitates multi-scale information integration. The encoder leverages a high-efficiency backbone, while the decoder introduces a dynamic fusion mechanism designed to enhance information interaction between different feature branches. Recognizing the limitations of convolutional networks in modeling long-range dependencies and capturing global semantic context, the model incorporates an attention-based feature extraction component. This is further augmented by positional encoding, enabling better awareness of spatial structures and local details. The dynamic fusion mechanism employs an adaptive weighting strategy, adjusting the contribution of each feature channel to reduce redundancy and improve representation quality. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed network, experiments were conducted on a single RTX 3090 GPU. The Dynamic Real-time Integrated Vision Encoder–Segmenter Network (DriveSegNet) achieved a mean Intersection over Union (mIoU) of 76.9% and an inference speed of 70.5 FPS on the Cityscapes test dataset, 74.6% mIoU and 139.8 FPS on the CamVid test dataset, and 35.8% mIoU with 108.4 FPS on the ADE20K dataset. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves an excellent balance between inference speed, segmentation accuracy, and model size. Full article

Maternal and child health during pregnancy is an important issue in global public health, and the classification accuracy of fetal cardiotocography (CTG), as a key tool for monitoring fetal health during pregnancy, is directly related to the effectiveness of early diagnosis and intervention. Due to the serious category imbalance problem of CTG data, traditional models find it challenging to take into account a small number of categories of samples, increasing the risk of leakage and misdiagnosis. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a two-step innovation: firstly, we design a method of adaptive adjustment of misclassification loss function weights (MAAL), which dynamically identifies and increases the focus on misclassified samples based on misclassification rates. Secondly, a primary and secondary correction network model (MAC-NET) is constructed to carry out secondary correction for the misclassified samples of the primary model. Experimental results show that the method proposed in this paper achieves 99.39% accuracy on the UCI publicly available fetal health dataset, and also obtains excellent performance on other domain imbalance datasets. This demonstrates that the model is not only effective in alleviating the problem of category imbalance, but also has very high clinical utility. Full article
