The digital revolution is transforming the financial services sector. Risk is not static; emerging risks continue to pose threats to the financial services sector which influences financial stability and consumer protection regulation mandates. This novel study presents a comparative bibliometric analysis of China and India in examining the effect of trends on the scholarly research outputs discussing the emerging risks in the fintech-driven digital banking environment. Furthermore, the mapping presents the geographical dynamics of Asia, followed by country-level perspectives. The period of study was from 2015 to 2024. Leveraging the Scopus database, data was extracted based on a specified query using the SPAR 4 SLR protocol. Analysis was performed on 162 articles from an initial list of 1257 articles using Scival and Vos viewer tools. Performance indicator metrics and science mapping enabled the answering of research questions. The findings revealed that research output is inclined towards India rather than China; this is despite China domiciling some big tech firms. Comparatively, India dominates when it comes to performance analysis metrics compared to China. The scientific mapping depicted in both countries shows the multifaceted effects of fintech on banking, including trends in user acceptance, competition, emerging risks, technological innovation, and financial stability. The strong connections in both countries across clusters highlight how fintech research is multi-disciplinary, spanning consumer behavior, finance, economics, and financial technology. This study provides a foundation on which a robust risk management framework, which is customized to digital banking existence, can be developed in the face of emerging risks. Full article

This study examines industrial digitalization, with a particular focus on the transformation from Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0. The research is based on a database of 1441 Scopus-indexed articles, which forms the basis of a systematic literature review and bibliometric network analysis. The articles were ranked using Global Citation Score (GCS), followed by Co-Coupling Network (CCN) within VosViewer, the method to create arrays. The arrays were analyzed based on the connection strengths of the citations in them. Next, we performed Burst Detection using the CiteSpace app. Finally, the most relevant keywords, determined in the Burst Detection, were used for Co-Occurrence Network (CONK), with which we could create new arrays and analyze them. By connecting the various, fragmented scientific findings, our results highlight that digital twins, artificial intelligence, supply chain resilience and the Internet of Things are the focus of Industry 4.0, i.e., the technological side is dominant. In contrast, Industry 5.0 places employees at the center. It also emphasizes the analysis of human–machine interaction and the importance of green digital sustainability. The results provide a comprehensive picture of how decision-makers, researchers, and professionals can interpret a changing mindset and apply it as practical advice. Full article

The article presents a broad and exhaustive approach to financial auditing studies, as well as their current state in academic research. Its main objective is to examine practices in the face of existing challenges. Financial auditing is strongly influenced by international standards, the role of financial auditors in risk management, and the use of new technologies and artificial intelligence. Using a bibliometric analysis of 74 studies extracted from the Scopus database, the authors visualize the evolution of financial auditing using tools such as VOS Viewer. This reveals trends and keywords associated with financial auditing, accounting, management, risk management, and fraud. According to the study, there is a gap in expectations regarding the role of the auditor that is influenced by different cultural contexts and the growing use of forensic accounting services for fraud investigation and detection. The study also highlights the low use of accounting and auditing standards in countries such as Iraq and Egypt and observes the normalization of the fraud trend in Pakistan. Full article

This paper examines the growing role of nature-based solutions (NBS) and the integration of digital technologies in participatory urban planning. It aims to assess the current state of technologies and methods for participatory approaches in NBS projects, the level of participation they can stimulate, and the drivers and barriers to their integration into planning practice. The review uses the PRISMA methodology to examine 275 records from two databases, aiming to minimize bias. Records were selected based on the following criteria: studies were conducted in urban settings; referenced NBS; incorporated participatory methods; and involved digital technologies. Both review articles and case study papers were considered. A bibliometric and content analysis was performed using VOS VIEWER software, an Excel spreadsheet, and comparison tables. The 45 reviewed studies cover citizen science, participatory mapping and co-creation using place-based or non-place-based digital tools. While these tools can improve engagement and efficiency, they also face challenges such as limited data access, demographic bias, institutional resistance, and insufficient resources. The study found that top-down methods often restrict the impact of these tools by treating public input as secondary, thereby highlighting the need for transparent, collaborative planning. There is growing interest from researchers, the food industry, and consumers in reducing or eliminating synthetic preservatives such as nitrites in meat products. In this context, medicinal plants have emerged as promising sources of natural compounds with multifunctional roles. This review summarizes recent advances in the application of medicinal plant extracts as natural antioxidants, antimicrobials, and color-preserving agents in the meat industry. A systematic literature search was conducted using the PubMed and Lens databases, complemented by a bibliometric analysis with the VOS viewer, to identify research trends and key contributors in the field. The incorporation of plant-based ingredients in meat and meat analogues has the potential to enhance flavor, nutritional value, and shelf life while responding to the demand for clean-label and health-oriented products. Particular attention is given to the phytochemical composition, bioactivity, and practical application of selected medicinal plants that have demonstrated efficacy in preserving the oxidative stability, microbial safety, and visual quality of meat. Furthermore, the review highlights emerging plant species with potential in meat preservation and discusses the challenges related to their incorporation into meat matrices. These findings support the strategic use of plant-based bioactive compounds as sustainable and functional alternatives to synthetic additives in meat systems. Full article

Biomimetic lattice structures, inspired by natural architectures such as bone, coral, mollusk shells, and Euplectella aspergillum, have gained increasing attention for their exceptional strength-to-weight ratios, energy absorption, and deformation control. These properties make them ideal for advanced engineering applications in aerospace, biomedical devices, and structural impact protection. This study presents a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of global research on biomimetic lattice structures published between 2020 and 2025, aiming to identify thematic trends, collaboration patterns, and underexplored areas. A curated dataset of 3685 publications was extracted from databases like PubMed, Dimensions, Scopus, IEEE, Google Scholar, and Science Direct and merged together. After the removal of duplication and cleaning, about 2226 full research articles selected for the bibliometric analysis excluding review works, conference papers, book chapters, and notes using Cite space, VOS viewer version 1.6.20, and Bibliometrix R packages (4.5. 64-bit) for mapping co-authorship networks, institutional affiliations, keyword co-occurrence, and citation relationships. A significant increase in the number of publications was found over the past year, reflecting growing interest in this area. The results identify China as the most prolific contributor, with substantial institutional support and active collaboration networks, especially with European research groups. Key research focuses include additive manufacturing, finite element modeling, machine learning-based design optimization, and the performance evaluation of bioinspired geometries. Notably, the integration of artificial intelligence into structural modeling is accelerating a shift toward data-driven design frameworks. However, gaps remain in geometric modeling standardization, fatigue behavior analysis, and the real-world validation of lattice structures under complex loading conditions. This study provides a strategic overview of current research directions and offers guidance for future interdisciplinary exploration. The insights are intended to support researchers and practitioners in advancing next-generation biomimetic materials with superior mechanical performance and application-specific adaptability. This study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the application of artificial intelligence (AI) methods to solve real-world problems in the oil and gas sector. The methodology involved a two-step process for analyzing AI applications. In the first step, an initial exploration of scientific articles in the Scopus database was conducted using keywords related to AI and computational intelligence, resulting in a total of 11,296 articles. The bibliometric analysis conducted using VOS Viewer version 1.6.15 software revealed an average annual growth of approximately 15% in the number of publications related to AI in the sector between 2015 and 2024, indicating the growing importance of this technology. In the second step, the research focused on the OnePetro database, widely used by the oil industry, selecting articles with terms associated with production and drilling, such as “production system”, “hydrate formation”, “machine learning”, “real-time”, and “neural network”. The results highlight the transformative impact of AI on production operations, with key applications including optimizing operations through real-time data analysis, predictive maintenance to anticipate failures, advanced reservoir management through improved modeling, image and video analysis for continuous equipment monitoring, and enhanced safety through immediate risk detection. The bibliometric analysis identified a significant concentration of publications at Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) events, which accounted for approximately 40% of the selected articles. Overall, the integration of AI into production operations has driven significant improvements in efficiency and safety, and its continued evolution is expected to advance industry practices further and address emerging challenges. Microgrids are gaining considerable attention as a promising solution for integrating distributed energy resources and enhancing grid resilience. Model predictive control (MPC) has emerged as a powerful control strategy for microgrids due to its ability to handle complex dynamics and optimization problems. This study aims to conduct a comprehensive assessment of MPC applications and evaluate their overall effectiveness across various microgrid functionalities. Previous studies have not collectively examined MPC and have not explored its advantages and disadvantages in the microgrid. This study systematically categorizes and addresses this gap in the existing literature. An extensive list of suitable research papers was compiled from the Web of Science and analyzed, considering the method of the studies, main focus and objectives, publication year, and findings. Moreover, this research incorporates co-occurrence keyword analysis, covering MPC applications, systematic reviews, microgrids, and review articles. The visualization and analysis of the data obtained from the Web of Science database were conducted using VOS viewer. This discussion includes approaches that help electrical engineers evaluate the benefits and disadvantages of MPC within the microgrid setup. This knowledge enables electrical practitioners to select the appropriate methods for providing a resilient and reliable ecosystem. Full article

Front-of-pack labels (FOPLs) have been identified as a potential key tool to enable consumers to make healthier and more sustainable food choices. The simplification of complex nutritional, environmental, and processing data into clear and immediate formats is an essential function of FOPLs, which facilitates a more efficient connection between detailed product information and real-world purchasing decisions. This review critically evaluates the three main categories of FOPL—nutritional (e.g., Nutri-Score), environmental (e.g., Eco-Score) and processing-based (e.g., NOVA)—and examines emerging efforts to weave these dimensions into unified labelling frameworks. A bibliometric analysis of 1803 publications from Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar was conducted, using VOS viewer to identify co-occurrence networks and thematic clusters. A narrative synthesis of label design methods, regulatory steps and consumer impact research followed this. Despite the considerable maturation of individual FOPLs, their combined application remains ad hoc. Establishing harmonized, multidimensional criteria is therefore essential to ensure consistent labelling that informs consumers and promotes public health and sustainability goals. Full article

(1) Background: Aquatic organisms are more sensitive to pollutants than terrestrial ones, making them ideal for ecotoxicology studies. Chironomids, a key bioindicator species, have been widely used in environmental pollution research. With the continuous deepening of research on water environmental pollution and the continuous development of molecular biology, it is therefore very important to understand the current research progress of the toxicology of chironomids. (2) Methods: This study used bibliometrics to analyze 1465 publications on chironomid toxicology from the Web of Science and PubMed databases, aiming to reveal research trends, hotspots, and future directions. The data analysis involved Microsoft Excel, VOS viewer, CiteSpace, and ChatGLM. (3) Results: Heavy metals, pesticides, and microplastics were the main pollutants studied, with Chironomus riparius being the most researched species. The analysis indicated a growing research trend since 1998, reflecting an increasing global concern over aquatic pollution. This study concludes that more molecular-level research is needed to uncover toxic mechanisms and improve environmental risk assessments. (4) Conclusions: This work will aid scientists and policymakers in developing better pollution control strategies and conservation efforts for aquatic ecosystems, ultimately contributing to environmental protection and public health. This study reviews and synthesizes the scholarly work on sustainability reporting as a governance tool in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) framework. Bibliometrix R-package (Biblioshiny) and VosViewer are utilized to examine the descriptive and thematic outcomes using 148 articles from the Web of Science database. In contrast to previous bibliometric reviews, this study not only maps the broader landscape of the literature but also provides an in-depth exploration of three emerging thematic areas, offering a more nuanced understanding of the evolving discourse on corporate sustainability. Network visualization of keywords unveils three core themes within this research domain: Theme 1: sustainability reporting as a governance mechanism; Theme 2: the intersection of sustainable development goals (SDGs) and corporate sustainability; and Theme 3: the performance-accountability paradox in sustainability disclosure, which facilitated the identification of potential future research directions. The research outcome could contribute to institutional policies on sustainability reporting, highlighting (1) the importance of corporate governance in guiding businesses on policies and practices in sustainability reporting and mobilizing collective efforts among stakeholders on sustainability reporting, and (2) the awareness of using it as a platform to enhance the implementation of SDGs. This study underscores sustainability reporting as a disclosure mechanism and a pivotal governance tool for guiding institutional alignment with the SDGs. Full article

Objective: This study examines YouTube comments following the overturn of Roe v. Wade, investigating how perceptions of health implications differ based on commenters’ gender and abortion stance. Methods: Using Netlytic, 25,730 comments were extracted from YouTube videos discussing the overturn of Roe v. Wade, half of which featured physicians discussing public health implications. Manual coding of 21% of the comments identified discussions on abortion stance and medical implications, while Gender API approximated the commenters’ gender. A term co-occurrence network was generated with VOSviewer to visualize key terms and their interrelations. Custom overlays explored patterns related to gender, abortion views, and medical implications, and comparisons within these overlays intersected with the medical implications overlay to illustrate contextual differences across demographics. Results: Four clusters emerged in the network: Constitutional Law, addressing the U.S. Constitution’s interpretation and legal impacts; Reproductive Rights and Responsibility, discussing alternatives to abortion and access; Human Development, exploring the intersection of abortion laws and individual beliefs; and Religious Beliefs, linking abortion laws to faith. Prochoice users focused on medical and socioeconomic impacts on women, whereas prolife users emphasized the prevention of unwanted pregnancies and moral considerations. Gender analysis revealed males centered on constitutional issues, while females highlighted medical and personal effects. Conclusion: The findings underscore that monitoring YouTube discourse offers valuable insights into public responses to shifts in health policy. Full article

This study addresses a research gap in the organization-based self-esteem (OBSE) literature: the limited integration of sustainability concepts, particularly across environmental, social, and economic dimensions. As the first bibliometric analysis on OBSE, this research systematically reviews 333 publications contained in the Web of Science Core Collection, dated from 1989 to 2024, using VosViewer software version 1.6.20 (0). Citation analysis identifies the most influential authors, institutions, and countries, and assesses the extent to which their work engages with corporate sustainability or sustainable human resource management—encompassing practices that promote social equity, environmental responsibility, and long-term organizational viability. Keyword co-occurrence analysis reveals that sustainability-related concepts are embedded within the OBSE domain to a limited extent. The findings indicate that while the OBSE literature is evolving to incorporate these topics, this integration remains limited and fragmented. Opportunities for further research, particularly on the intersection of OBSE and sustainability practices, are highlighted, as are practical implications for human resource professionals. This study examines human factors in bus accidents using bibliometric analysis to identify publications, research trends, and collaborative relationships between authors and institutions. Data from 1.834 publications in the Scopus database during the period 2014–2024 were analyzed using VOS viewer software to display network visualization and density. The results show a significant increase in publications since 2018, with a peak in 2022. Research related to human factors in bus accidents is growing, with a focus on fatigue, distraction, and driver behavior. The keyword and density analysis identified that “Human” was the most frequently discussed topic. China is the country with the highest contribution, and the medical field plays a major role in this topic. These findings highlight the importance of understanding human factors in efforts to improve transportation safety. Full article

Global food systems face mounting pressure from intersecting crises of food insecurity, malnutrition (affecting over 2.8 billion people), and climate change, necessitating transformative solutions. Agroforestry systems (AFS), integrating trees with crops and/or livestock, offer a promising pathway by synergistically enhancing food production, ecological stability, and public health outcomes. However, realizing this potential is hindered by gaps in understanding the complex interactions and trade-offs between these domains, limiting policy and practice effectiveness. This comprehensive review aimed to synthesize current evidence on how agroforestry integrates food security, public health, and environmental sustainability and to identify critical research gaps that limit its widespread adoption and optimization. Following the SPAR-4-SLR protocol, a systematic literature search was conducted across Web of Science and Scopus, with thematic analysis using VosViewer and quantitative synthesis of key metrics. The review confirms agroforestry’s multifaceted benefits, including enhanced dietary diversity, improved micronutrient intake (e.g., 18% reduction in vitamin A deficiency), significant carbon sequestration (0.5–2 Mg C/ha/year), soil health improvements (50–70% less erosion), income generation (+40%), and climate resilience (2–5 °C cooling). Key gaps identified include the need for longitudinal health studies, better quantification of climate–health interactions and non-material benefits, policy–health integration strategies, and analyses of economic–nutritional trade-offs.
