Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to introduce this Special Issue of Veterinary Sciences, dedicated to highlighting high-quality research contributions presented during the 1st International Online Conference on Veterinary Sciences (IOCVS 2025), held virtually from 3 to 5 December 2025.
Promoted by Veterinary Sciences (ISSN: 2306-7381; Impact Factor: 2.3), this inaugural electronic conference brought together veterinarians, virologists, researchers, and public health professionals from around the globe to explore current challenges and innovations in veterinary virology. The event emphasized a One Health perspective, spanning fundamental discovery through to clinical and epidemiological application.
IOCVS 2025 featured the following five thematic sessions:
- Identification and Detection of Novel Animal Viruses;
- Development and Optimization of Animal Vaccines;
- Veterinary Epidemiology;
- Antiviral Therapy;
- Virology in One Health.
This Special Issue now invites submissions aligned with the above conference themes. All contributions will undergo rigorous peer review to ensure the highest scholarly standards. Outstanding conference presentations will be considered for inclusion, and new relevant submissions are also welcome, as long as they fall within the scope of this topic.
We believe this Special Issue will serve as a timely collection of cutting-edge research in veterinary virology and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of animal and public health.
We warmly encourage you to submit your manuscript and become part of this impactful initiative.
Prof. Dr. Wentao Li
Guest Editor

Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Veterinary Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
