Young Investigator Award

We are pleased to announce that the winner of the Symmetry 2023 Young Investigator Award is Dr. Xueyun Wang.
Dr. Xueyun Wang is an esteemed Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Mechanics at the School of Aerospace Engineering, Beijing Institute of Technology, located in Beijing, China. His research interests primarily revolve around symmetry breaking induced ferroic domain/domain wall/topological defects, 2D materials, scanning probe techniques, and single crystal growth. Dr. Wang obtained his PhD in 2015 and boasts an exceptional publication record, with 110 papers published in reputable journals such as Science, Nature, Phys. Rev. Lett., and Adv. Mater. His work has garnered over 3100 citations on Google Scholar, resulting in an impressive h-index of 27. Undoubtedly, he is emerging as a prominent figure in the field of symmetry/asymmetry phenomena. Since 2017, Dr. Xueyun Wang has successfully secured four national funding grants, a remarkable feat in today's highly competitive academic landscape. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Xueyun Wang for his remarkable accomplishments.
As the awardee, Dr. Xueyun Wang will receive an honorarium of CHF 2000, an offer to publish a paper free of charge before 31 December 2024 in Symmetry after peer review, and an electronic certificate.
