Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Tourism stakeholders have a particular interest in healthy and sustainable tourism practices as these are heavily pursued in the industry. However, from economic, environmental, and social perspectives, the global spread of COVID-19 has had serious impacts on the tourism industry worldwide, especially for tourists, tourism enterprises, tourism administration department, and the hospitality and hotel industries. At present, the world is in the stage of regular pandemic prevention and control, and some countries have even restarted international tourism. Therefore, applying and modeling information systems while balancing epidemic prevention and the sustainable development of tourism has become a global issue. With this in mind, this Special Issue will discuss the challenges presented by information systems’ application in the sustainable development of tourism enterprises, tourism administration departments, and the hospitality and hotel industries, presenting new theoretical frameworks and models for various sustainability-related issues in this context. These studies will not only further academic development of this subject but also provide practical implications for the tourism industry. For this Special Issue, we are inviting innovative papers contributing solutions and ideas for achieving sustainability in tourism. We welcome empirical research, case studies, cross-cultural studies, qualitative studies, and applications of the QCA method. Accounts of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research are also encouraged.
