Corporate Strategies for Advancing a Sustainable Energy Transition and Low-Carbon Economy
This special issue belongs to the section “Economic and Business Aspects of Sustainability“.
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue, Corporate Strategies for Advancing a Sustainable Energy Transition and Low-Carbon Economy, focuses on how corporations design, implement, and evaluate strategic actions that accelerate the global shift toward sustainable, low-carbon energy systems. Its focus is on integrating sustainability principles into corporate governance, investment decisions, innovation, and energy management to achieve measurable progress toward net-zero objectives. The scope covers interdisciplinary perspectives, including sustainable finance, renewable energy adoption, decarbonization technologies, policy alignment and corporate social responsibility within energy-intensive industries. The purpose is to generate empirical and conceptual insights that inform corporate, governmental, and societal efforts toward long-term sustainability.
This issue builds upon the existing literature on sustainable business models and energy transition by emphasizing strategic corporate responses to climate risk, green innovation, and ESG integration—areas that remain underexplored in current research. It contributes to Sustainability by quantifying and assessing corporate impacts, measuring progress through sustainability metrics, and exploring governance and policy tools that enable effective implementation. In line with the journal’s mission, this Special Issue addresses socio-economic, environmental, and policy dimensions of sustainability through a systemic and interdisciplinary lens, offering actionable frameworks and evidence-based solutions for achieving a resilient, low-carbon global economy.
