Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Oases in arid climate zones have unique ecological functions and production efficiency, based on the ideal combination of abundant water resources in upstream mountainous areas and their own superior light and heat resources. The special mixture of light, heat, water and soil has enabled a unique oasis agriculture, equipped with excellent conditions for establishing high-quality, high-yield and high-efficiency crops. The oasis is the only ecosystem that can effectively combat arid climatic conditions. This Special Issue, "Sustainable Oasis Ecosystems and Saline–Alkali Land Improvement", focuses on the composition, function and stability of oasis ecosystems in arid zones, as well as improvements saline land in arid zones and the sustainability of agriculture. It comprehensively covers new achievements, theories, methods and technologies in the development of oasis ecosystems in arid and semi-arid zones and the utilization of oasis agricultural resources. We are mainly seeking innovative and practical research papers, research briefs, and literature reviews on the response and feedback of ecosystem structure and function to climate change, the process of oasisization and its environmental effects, the ecology of oases and the exploitation and utilization of resources, saline and alkaline land improvement technologies, water-saving irrigation theories and technologies, oasis water and salt dynamics, and oasis agricultural farming and cultivation.
