Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue, “The Energy–Economy–Environment Nexus: Innovations for a Sustainable Future,” explores the dynamic interplay between energy systems, economic development, and environmental sustainability. The Special Issue aims to bring forward interdisciplinary research and practical strategies that can support the global transition toward low-carbon, inclusive, and resilient development models.
The focus lies in identifying synergies—rather than trade-offs—among clean energy innovation, sustainable economic growth, and environmental stewardship. We encourage submissions that employ systems thinking, quantitative modeling, policy analysis, and case-based research to address pressing global challenges.
While extensive literature exists on individual pillars of energy, economy, or environment, this Special Issue supplements existing research by emphasizing integrated frameworks and innovations that bridge these domains—offering new insights into circular economy design, green finance, decarbonization, climate policy, and regional sustainability pathways.
Contributions to this Special Issue will support the quantification, monitoring, and implementation of sustainability principles, especially in alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 7, 8, 9, 12, and 13) and will provide decision-makers with tools and evidence to promote sustainable transitions across multiple sectors.
