Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In the context of the challenges facing humanity and the planet, it is necessary to strike a balance between achieving food security and producing food in a sustainable, responsible and environmentally friendly manner in line with the SDGs and Agenda 2030. From this starting point, the objective of this Special Issue is the publication of papers that focus on maintaining food safety and quality while considering sustainable food production, specifically in meat production systems due to their impact on carbon footprint and the climate crisis.

In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • The production of food of animal origin in an environmentally sustainable way, with special emphasis on products derived from ruminants.
  • Food management strategies to improve quality control and guarantee the safety of foods from sustainable systems during.
  • Citizen literacy in sustainable meat production systems.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.
