Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The purpose of this Special Issued, entitled “Environmental Impact and Sustainability of Wastewater Treatment Technologies,” is to provide a forum for researchers to submit the results of their work on the pollutant removal efficiencies and sustainability of various wastewater treatment technologies. We solicit research that includes an analysis (field studies, lab experiments, and reviews of the literature) of treatments for pollutants of environmental and public health concern (e.g., nutrients, metals, PFOS, and PFOA). The research should provide an emphasis on the economic, environmental, and/or political sustainability of such methods/technologies. As the global population continues to increase so too does the generation of wastewater, and it has become important that the technologies used to treat wastewater are efficient, economically feasible, and sustainable. We seek to compile a collection of manuscripts that will help to advance our understanding of the efficiency and viability of various wastewater treatment options for growing communities.

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
