Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Energy security is considered essential for sustainable development. With the recent changes in the energy security situation around the world, today's energy security has changed from the traditional sense of adequate energy supply at affordable prices to a more complex and diverse concept. At the economic level, energy assets, infrastructure, supply chains and trade routes are applied to the security of energy. At the political level, energy security is described as a system of national policies and international mechanisms designed to quickly respond, in a cooperative and coordinated manner, to emergencies such as supply disruptions and oil price spikes to maintain energy supply stability. At the environmental level, energy security is linked to climate change and environmental issues. Thus, energy production and consumption, in particular, energy conservation and emission reduction, low-carbon economy and clean energy development, have become central to the energy technology revolution and global energy structure change.

In order to adapt to the new situation of energy security, corresponding energy policies must be implemented to ensure energy supply and cope with climate change. Countries and regions in the world have their own characteristics in developing energy policies. Energy development and investment policies, energy technology policies, energy consumption policies, energy import and export policies, energy foreign policies and new energy policies all play an irreplaceable role. The evaluation of energy policy and related case studies have both academic and practical value.

The topics of this Special Issue will include, but are not limited to:

  • The measurement of energy security and evolution of energy policies.
  • Methods and tools for energy policy evaluation.
  • Research on energy policies and their national, regional and global implications.
  • Discussion on issues related to energy transition.
