Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The Sustainability journal will provide a Special Issue of energy in districts. The scope covers a variety of topics focusing on zero and positive energy districts, their definitions, solutions, and impacts, as well as planning and operation. Papers dealing with required services and business models of such districts are also welcome. Furthermore, papers may also cover the stakeholder and user roles of district-scale energy solutions. Papers may deal with either new constructions or renovations. If a paper addresses a strong focus on renewable energy solutions, it may also be considered, even if a zero or positive energy level is not reached in a district-level.

Benefits of Publishing in a Special Issue

  • Ease of navigation: Grouping papers by topic helps scholars navigate broad scope journals more efficiently.
  • Greater discoverability: Special Issues support the reach and impact of scientific research. Articles in Special Issues are more discoverable and cited more frequently.
  • Expansion of research network: Special Issues facilitate connections among authors, fostering scientific collaborations.
  • External promotion: Articles in Special Issues are often promoted through the journal's social media, increasing their visibility.
  • e-Book format: Special Issues with more than 10 articles can be published as dedicated e-books, ensuring wide and rapid dissemination.
