Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The Special Issue entitled Economic, Social, and Cultural Aspects of Circular Economy in the journal Sustainability has been launched. Several Special Issues on circular economies have already been published; however, in this Special Issue, various aspects of the circular economy, in addition to the net zero concept, will be addressed. The relation between net zero and the circular economy, behavioral aspects of the circular economy and the cultural and social aspects of the circular economy will be discussed in this Special Issue.

We welcome contributions on the concept of circular economy in the following fields: electricity, transportation, buildings, industry, etc. We also welcome studies that focus on recycling, reusing, remanufacturing, remodeling, retrofitting and rearranging, providing not only economic perspectives but also social and cultural perspectives on the circular economy.

Contributions from developed countries, developing countries, and under-developed countries are welcome. These contributions may include essays, reviews and articles from sociological and anthropological perspectives. Through this SI, we can gauge the overall progress of the circular economy.

Focus and Scope: The presentation of various cases on the circular economy in the sectors of electricity, transportation, buildings and industry from economic, social, and cultural perspectives.

Purpose: We aim to present the progress of the circular economy at the micro, meso and macro level.
