Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) is a requirement for a healthy and productive environment. Studying its condition might improve the quality of life for users either in buildings or any other space where people spend a significant part of their time. In times of climate change, the concern with sustainable aspects is gaining relevance, and green buildings are a key strategy for mitigating negative impacts. Green buildings aim to decrease the negative impact on the environment and improve quality of life, providing sustainable spaces for occupants and reducing the environmental footprint of buildings. These advancements cover several vital fields, such as building materials, energy efficiency, air quality, and occupant comfort. This Special Issue is open to any subject area relating to indoor environmental quality, promoting health and well-being related to green buildings. Research papers, literature reviews, and case studies are welcome. Potential topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Air Quality (Smart Ventilation Systems);
- Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Design for Green Buildings (net zero buildings, green roofs);
- Sustainable Building Materials (renewable materials);
- Water Conservation;
- Lighting and Thermal Comfort;
- Green Building Lifecycle;
- Building Certification Systems (LEED, BREEAM);
- Green buildings for Mitigating Urban Heat Islands;
- Biophilic Design;
- Carbon Neutrality and Sustainable Development Goals.
