Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
At present, the Internet of Things, big data, artificial intelligence, robots, blockchain and other new-generation information technologies are deeply integrated into the supply chains of agricultural products, leading the way for the smart transformation of the supply chain of agricultural products (from farmland to table). At the same time, global climate change, the global COVID-19 pandemic, and the international trade situation also bring about many challenges in regard to the supply chains of agricultural products. The agricultural product supply chain is in urgent need of information empowerment. The development of intelligent supply chains for agricultural products plays an important role in improving the circulation efficiency of agricultural products, reducing the circulation loss of agricultural products, and ensuring the quality and safety of agricultural products.
In order to further promote the innovation of smart supply chains for agricultural products, this present Special Issue in Sustainability will provide a platform for demonstrating the research progress on "Smart and Low-Carbon Supply Chain for Perishable Products", with the aim of discussing and exchanging the latest achievements in basic theory innovation, key technology research and development, major product creation, application mode exploration and other aspects in this field.
In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Information perception technology for agricultural products throughout the supply chain.
- Intelligent storage and transportation technology for agricultural products throughout the supply chain.
- Supply chain process optimization and collaborative decision-making technology.
- Low-carbon smart supply chains and smart flexible supply chains.
- Numerical simulation for supply chains.
We look forward to receiving your contributions.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Sustainability is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
