Dear Colleagues,
The current global energy system requires a rapid transformation to address two imperative challenges: climate change and sustainable growth. During the past decade, advanced materials have had a phenomenal impact on the energy sector. Nanomaterials began to receive global attention from researchers because they significantly influence the physical, electrical, chemical, and biological properties of energy systems, aiding the development of new forms of environmental energy. The objective of this Special Issue is to promote the discovery, innovation, growth and dissemination of basic and transitional knowledge in materials and nanomaterials used for energy production and transportation.
The scope of this Special Issue covers, but not limit to the following topics:
- Nanomaterials for wastewater treatment;
- Nanomaterials in electrochemical and biosensors;
- Nano cathodes and nano anodes for advanced batteries;
- Nanomaterials for gas to fuel conversion;
- Nanomaterials for supercapacitors;
- Advanced materials for solar cells technologies;
- Novel materials in hydrogen production and storage;
- Nanomaterials for photocatalysis;
- Nanomaterial-based composites for heat transfer applications;
- Advanced materials for green energy production.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Sustainability is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
