Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Technological advancements are revolutionizing the world in recent years. The use of tools such as big data, blockchain, artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things enables project teams to become more efficient, optimize their operations and improve their project delivery performance. Incorporating these technologies not only increases efficiency and time optimization but also enhances project processes, new product development, stakeholder collaboration and organizational sustainability. Furthermore, the proliferation of digital platforms has fundamentally changed how project managers interact with stakeholders and consumers, particularly through real-time communication, collaborative tools, online reviews and user-generated content, which now play a critical role in shaping project planning strategies, product innovation decisions and resource allocation across diverse sectors including new product development, cultural and creative industries, construction, IT and manufacturing. In this regard, the contributions of technology transformation to project management and innovation processes have sparked growing interest among project practitioners, product developers, researchers and academics. While the increase in scientific production enriches and consolidates this field of knowledge, its rapid development poses challenges in project management practices and innovation management, as well as in identifying and understanding subareas, trends and research clusters. The main topics are as follows:

  • Technology-enabled agile and adaptive project management
  • Digital technologies’ impact on project planning and new product development
  • Technology integration in project management with triple bottom line considerations
  • Technology transformation effects on project governance and innovation success
  • Technology-driven pricing strategies, supply chain coordination and project financing
  • Technology innovation for sustainable project management and green product development
  • Digital transformation in R&D and new product development projects
  • Innovation project management in cultural and creative industries
  • Online reviews and consumer feedback in product development decision-making
