Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The acceleration of the transformation of the global energy structure to a green, low-carbon, and sustainable smart grid—the key support of the energy revolution—is reshaping the pattern of the electric power industry at an unprecedented speed. The integration of advanced information technology, communication technology, and electric power technology has opened up new pathways for enhancing energy utilization efficiency, promoting clean energy consumption, and guaranteeing a safe and stable energy supply. To further promote academic exchanges and technological innovation in this field and to widely gather cutting-edge research results, we invite submissions to this Special Issue on the following topics:

  1. Research on real-time monitoring and early warning systems for the conditions of smart grid equipment based on the convergence of 5G and the Internet of Things;
  2. Application of blockchain technology in smart-grid-distributed energy transactions and communication security;
  3. Research on smart grid load forecasting and integrated energy co-dispatch strategies based on big data analysis;
  4. Research on artificial-intelligence-driven fault diagnosis and self-healing control technology for smart grids;
  5. Studies on the application of synergistic and optimal allocation of distributed energy resources and energy storage systems in smart grid and integrated energy systems;
  6. Research on the joint control strategies of distributed energy and energy storage systems in microgrids;
  7. Studies on the cross-regional interconnection of smart grids and new energy consumption methods based on flexible direct current transmission technology;
  8. Studies of multi-port energy conversion and the coordinated control of power electronic converters in integrated energy systems.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Sustainability is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
