Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Ensuring access to sustainable and healthy diets is a central challenge for public well-being in the 21st century. Global food systems are under growing pressure from climate change, environmental degradation, and rapid shifts in consumer habits, while non-communicable diseases linked to poor diets continue to rise. At the same time, food safety remains a fundamental condition for protecting health and maintaining consumer trust.

This Special Issue aims to bring together cutting-edge research, innovative practices, and policy perspectives that address the interconnections between sustainability, nutrition, and food safety. We welcome contributions exploring sustainable dietary patterns, novel food sources, functional foods, the reduction of food waste, green technologies in food production, and strategies for ensuring safety and quality along the food chain. By fostering a multidisciplinary dialogue across nutrition, public health, food science, and environmental studies, this Special Issue seeks to provide actionable insights that can guide healthier diets, safer food systems, and more resilient societies.
