Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue will explore the interdisciplinary nexus of the digital economy and environmental sustainability, with emphasis on how emerging technologies catalyze green transitions. We invite cutting-edge research that addresses the following three critical dimensions:
- FinTech innovations enabling climate finance mechanisms and low-carbon investment;
- Digital transformation pathways for high-emission industries and climate-vulnerable sectors;
- Policy frameworks integrating technological advancements with ecological governance.
Contributions should examine novel approaches where digital tools—including AI, blockchain, and IoT—facilitate carbon efficiency, circular economy implementation, and climate risk mitigation. Special focus is given to Global South contexts where digital leapfrogging intersects with sustainable development challenges. Theoretical and empirical studies that explore the impacts of digitalization on ESG performance, green innovation, and resource optimization are particularly encouraged.
This Special Issue aims to advance theoretical frameworks in ecological finance while providing evidence-based solutions for policymakers, financial institutions, and corporations navigating dual transitions of digitalization and decarbonization. Multidisciplinary perspectives bridging financial economics, environmental science, and technology management will define next-generation sustainability paradigms.
