Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Sustainable tourism has become a strategic imperative for destinations, tourism stakeholders, and researchers facing increasingly complex environmental, social, and economic challenges.

This Special Issue aims to explore the multiple dimensions of sustainable tourism, with a particular focus on innovative approaches to destination management. In a post-pandemic context, marked by the need to transform tourism development models, we welcome contributions addressing topics such as destination resilience, participatory governance, tourism’s ecological footprint, and the integration of local communities into tourism planning.

This Special Issue invites theoretical and empirical studies that employ either qualitative or quantitative methods and welcomes interdisciplinary perspectives from marketing, geography, economics, sociology, and environmental sciences. The objective is to offer a critical and constructive reflection on the levers that can reconcile tourism attractiveness with the sustainability of places. Case studies, analytical models, and comparative analyses are especially encouraged.

I look forward to receiving your contributions.

Guest Editor
