Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the Special Issue "From Environmental Risks to Public Health Resilience: Policy Innovations for Sustainability". This Issue will address the critical nexus between environmental challenges and public health outcomes, with a specific focus on identifying and evaluating policy innovations that enhance community resilience and promote sustainable development in the face of global environmental change.

This Special Issue actively seeks to represent diverse global perspectives to ensure a comprehensive understanding of how environmental health policies manifest across different socioeconomic contexts and governance systems.

The scope of this Special Issue has been carefully refined to include, but are not limited to, the following themes:

  • Evidence-based analysis of specific environmental health risks including climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss.
  • Comparative studies of policy frameworks and governance mechanisms across different geographic regions and administrative levels.
  • Implementation research on cross-sectoral initiatives and their measurable impacts on public health resilience.
  • Case studies demonstrating successful translation of research findings into practical policy applications, particularly from underrepresented regions.
  • Critical assessments of One Health and planetary health approaches in policy-making contexts.

We welcome contributions that present empirical research, policy evaluations, and systematic reviews offering concrete insights and scalable solutions. Particular emphasis will be placed on studies that provide robust evidence of policy effectiveness and articulate clear pathways for implementation in diverse contexts.

This Special Issue aims to provide a timely contribution to the field by offering a comprehensive examination of innovative policy approaches that simultaneously address environmental sustainability and public health resilience. Through this Special Issue collection, we seek to advance the theoretical understanding and practical application of policies that can effectively mitigate environmental risks while promoting health equity and sustainable development across different global contexts.
