Dear Colleagues,
Nanostructured electrode materials have drawn significant attention from the field electrochemistry for their uses in electrocatalysis, energy storage, and sensors. The controlled design and synthesis of nanostructured materials with a variety of morphologies, surface areas, and functional groups can effectively increase the performance of electrochemical (bio)sensors. Thus, the construction of nanostructured materials is of importance in the efforts to achieve applicable next-generation electrochemical sensors with higher levels of sensitivity and precision. On account of their physical and chemical properties, the nanostructured materials can be used in gas sensors, biosensors, environmental contamination sensors, pH sensors, etc. Accordingly, understanding the structure–function relationship at work can provide significant insights for the development of future electrochemical sensors.
This Special Issue, entitled “Nanostructured-based Electrochemical (Bio)Sensors”, aims to collect original research articles and reviews which focus on designing and synthesizing nanostructured materials for variety of electrochemical sensing purposes (e.g., biosensing, heavy metal ion sensing, gas sensing, pH sensing, etc.), as well as revealing the structure–function relationships. The studies on nanofabricated sensors with new techniques for electrochemical sensing purposes are also welcome.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Sensors is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
